Buschur Racing..... Coil on plug ignition clarification

PLEASE KEEP YOUR NEGATIVE NON-RELATED COMMENTS OUT OF THIS THREAD AND TO YOURSELF! THIS THREAD WAS MADE TO STATE A FACT NOT TURN INTO AN ITEM COMPETITION WAR.

There is something that needs cleared up as it seems there have been some "rumors" spread about our coil on plug ignition system. This is the same ignition we've been selling over the last few years with great success. It appears there was a rumor started that our COP does not work with the stock ECU.... this is incorrect!

THE BUSCHUR RACING COIL ON PLUG DOES WORK WITH THE STOCK ECU AS WELL AS STANDALONES!

This is the same exact unit that is ran on the Buschur Racing drag evo which is the worlds fastest Evo 8, the AMS drag Evo which is worlds quickest Evo 8, David Buschur's 9 sec daily driven Evo RS, Al Friedman's crazy Evo 8, Mike @ USP low 9 sec Evo, Dan Bajalis' low 9 sec Evo, Procco Evo and the list goes on and on not to mention all of the fast and high HP cars we put out of here as well as AMS and the other shops that we deal with. This coil on plug ignition can be found on Evo's all around the world.

The piece in question is the one sold here on our site: Buschur Racing Coil On Plug Ignition

I hope this clears up any confusion there may have been. Thank you for your time and thanks for reading!

I'm glad this has been clarified Jarrod because a lot of people were telling me the only thing that works with the stock ECU was the HKS part and some few others. I'm glad you posted this here since after AMS came to Orlando for PRI, they said it was the longest lasting ignition system they've tested and it's also been the strongest and that was the reason why it was on the drag car. I now know which ignition to buy. Thanks..

Now thats great news/clarification, maybe stock ECU users will jump on a real ignition system.

Is my COP ready yet, I just can't take the anticipation anymore!

Please stay on topic. This thread is only to clarify a point, so please respect the OPs first statement. Otherwise, simply do not post.

Also I just recieved this from one of my distributors in Germany. He replied to this same thread over on our forums.

"To chime in on that:

Buschur COP EVO verified installs:

Stock Evo 6 ECU EU: verified ( Customer car )

Stock Evo 7 ECU JDM/ EU: verified ( on my personal car )
Stock Evo 8 ECU USDM/JDM/EU: verified ( Customer car at my shop )
Stock Evo 9 ECU USDM/JDM/EU: verified ( Customer car at my shop )

Power FC Evo 6 : verified ( Customer car )
AEM EVO 7 + 8 + 9: verified ( Shop Car, Customer car, Customer car )

NO Hassle with any combination i did. Runs instant, Plug and play.
No probs like with the TwinFire or Aem CDI ( dying sometimes )

why was my post deleted? it was on topic & was not bashing anyones product?

i was not bieng negative or trying to start drama

to be honest, i am in the market for a COP setup as am having issues that my current system cannot support, i like to know what im buying & so i aksed a simple question because i saw some similarities (namely the 3 allen screws on the case)......

ive been a member of EVOM for quite some time, i am not a post ***** or someone to cause drama, i put in an effort to make every one of my posts helpful or constructive & yet because one of the buschur camp gets offended my post is deleted?

im shure the mods will, go ahead & lock my account or whatever it is that they do to the troublemakers or those who ask the wrong questions. but to hbe honest, i do not want to be part of a community that values $$$ over helpful & constructive posters. after all what is this a storefront or a community?

end rant..........

What are the benefits over standard coils?

What does the red and blue wire hook up to?

I dont remember your post directly and its not "one of the buschur camp gets offended and my post gets deleted." Its not like that. I asked for all the BS posts made lastnight to be deleted because it just turned into a mess fast. Its at the mods own discretion.

If your was about the "rebdaged" box I answered that. I said its not "rebadged" we put a sticker on it to state what it is and where it comes from. Its marketing. Everyone for the most part knows we use the M&W box. If you didnt I am sorry but yes we do. We were the first to offer a coil on plug for the Evo as well as with that box specifically.

Lets please end the rant here.

just for the record, i could care less that the box was rebadged, i was just curious if it was the same electronics W a different label

Sorry if you felt as if you were given the shaft or whatever.

Glad we got it all taken care of. Thanks for the courteous reply.

Something else I want to point out on top of Buschur Racing actually building the COP first is you will notice if you look under the hood of your EVO (not to mention every other new car built) that the wiring in the car is covered in the same plastic wire looming we use on our COP ignitions. The OEM wiring harness lasts, what? 50 years? Good stuff and it all matches and can be easily serviced if need be, just like the OEM's do.

Curious about this as well. Also, in one of your above posts, you had quoted someone from Germany saying that that this system didn't have the dying issue like the twinfire or AEM. Can you clarify what they ment about "dying" and under which conditions it happens? If you dont want to post in this thread about it, could you PM me instead?
