Ok go with the cams i have Buddy 272. Go with 272 if i was u idle is not bad if u tune it. I am pushing 316whp with TBE but stock cat, 272 cams and gears, fuel pump, intake with a tune. U do not need the injectors the stock ones are good enough. I love my buddy clubs and they are cheap

You should be at 350awhp with the right tune and your mods. You would need the Green to hit around 400awhp on Dynojet.

I say go with the GSC S2's.

You will need to upgrade your springs and retainers too.

According to dll I picked up ~50whp over the stockers.

And I hold more power to redline too.

How do you know which cams needs new springs?

Does GSC 272/272 need springs?

Springs are cheap insurance, you are likely going to turn more rpms with cams. I have heard Cosworth cams need springs due to higher lift, but that is just hearsay from this forum somewhere. Ask the maker or a trusted tuner.

they are never a BAD idea, but you can probably be fine without them IF the cam manufacturer says so.

Get cams and a race gas tune. Or meth instead of the race gas. Imo, max out your stock turbo before upgrading.

LOL DONT LISTEN TO THIS GUY.

Get GSC S1's they are more aggressive than the HKS and all those other ones. the S1 will give you the best all around by far.

the guy who said he only has 320 whp on BR mustang dyno... that is a lot. go run the 1/4 you should be high 11's or 12 flat over 110 mph ez.

S2 cams are for cars with GT35 on race gas or bigger turbo's. NOT FOR STOCK TURBO in any situation.

this thread should close here because i just answered the cam debate. IF YOU WOULD SEARCH, you can backup what im saying. GSC S1 FTW. let us know how great they are and amazing you feel when its all said and done.

+1 on that get ur engine ready then move to the turbo

I used to run tbe, boost control set to 20psi,AMS LICP, intake on evo8 turbo and my utec was tuned by turbo xs and would run 12.7-12.8 @ 107. I upgraded the cams to comp 280/280 w 780cc injectors with a self tune at the track and did a best 12.09 @ 114. My 60 fts were crappy 1.8's. Plus the idle sounds rediculous.

Actually you are misinformed kind sir, b/c there are quite a bit of people on here running s2's on stock or stock appearing turbos and making power. GSC has alot more lift than most cams such as HKS etc. But there are other companies out there that have a crap tone of lift and dont recommend springs and retainers (side note). So to think that you know everything about it, just b/c that is what their website says w/out talking to Greg or anything isnt really a smart idea on your part. You are just as misinformed as you think everyone else is in this thread. On a different note I run the Buddy Club cams which are pretty much identical to hks specs. I have the 272/280 combo on a 6.5 TME and the car pulls like none other. I wanted to run the s1's and had thought about s2's, but got a smoking deal on these cams. If you want drivability, while still making a great power curve then gsc is the way to go.

HKS 280s FTW, add a fuel pump. This is better bang for your buck, because when you do the IX turbo, you'll also want to do a SS o2 housing, ported turbine housing, and ported exhaust manifold. Cams will get you 35-40whp and then that turbo setup should yield a solid 35-40whp more. At that point you'll be at the limit of the stock injectors and be SUPER happy. Then comes alky

Here is before/after HKS280's on my 05. Mind you I already had the 10.5 hotside but it was not touched at this time.

search this form for more posts by me on this.
