I thought you allready purchased the BW, if it were my choice I would go with the 256 over the 50 trim all day long .

the thing with the 50 trim is they all vary from one manufacturer to another like say a 50 trim from turbonetics will have a different power curve and compressor map compared to a garrett 50 trim and there are many different exhaust wheels and housings to choose from that will change the overall performance of the 50 trim as well. But none the less I would still choose a BW s256 over a 50 trim.

last I knew all the precision 50 trims were 54mm inducer 76mm exducer and offered as a .48 or .63 ar exhaust and rated at a max of about 450 hp I would lead to bet you would make a lil more HP at same boost but I am sure you will carry torque earlier and longer then his.

Absolutely not.
And just because they rate the turbo for XX does not mean that is the case. I have seen some well beyond their "limits" The BW may have enough flow potential but it doesn't make it a better turbo. There are many factors involved.

thats why I said before it depends on who makes the 50 trim and what wheels and housings were used in the turbo, I have seen 50 trims make more then the rated power and I have also seen an s256 on Trick Engineering's dyno put down 621 hp on a built integra GSR it all depends on the combo of parts, tune and how hard you want to push it as well

The best way for you to tell which setup works best between you and your friend is to have them tuned and dynoed. Same dyno, same day.

BTW: I hope you plan on posting your results, cause I'd like to see them, too.
