Hey guys.. i was wondering if anyone had any idea what is wrong with my car.. First off it just happened today.. everytime i start my car, the car doesn't seem to want to start.. it'll jump RPm will shoot up to like 1k then drop off and the engine dies.. the only way i can even drive the car is if i keep the rpm up after i start the car.. but every time the car comes to a stop, the rpm will fall off and the engine will die off.. please help!!!!

you need to tell us more info

recent mods?

a HKS VTA BOV would make it difficult for your car to idle

tell us more

well my mods are the hks evc.. but that thing broke.. so basically i have a manual boost controller, and part of it is plugged into the evc so i can see kinda how much i am boosting... so what do you guys suggest me to do.. cus right now i can drive the car as long as i constantly keep the rpms up by stepping on the gas.... but that is no way to drive a car..

Well if you are not recirculating the bov you're car will have really really rough idle and then die. I've been running my car atmospheric for a while and at first it had some trouble idling.

how to make a boost leak tester - http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

also pull your spark plus see how they look

you could have a vac leak which is causing your idle to cut out

I've attempted to help you twice and other members gave you valid suggestions.

You aren't a toddler we don't spoon feed you everything.

At this point you need to start searching or find someone in your area that knows some more about your car to help you out.

This moderator is awesome. There are not too many moderators that would actually give you links to a how-to thread with ALL the information you need.

I can think of several people close to Los Angeles that have TONS of knowledge about Evos and can help you diagnose everything from a missing bolt to a tick tick noise. Should you feel you want someone to look at it for you, all you have to do is ask and I'll gladly give up some names.

It's only beneficial for you to peruse the treasure trove of information this site has collected over the years for your benefit.

You've been here since March of 2003 and have roughly 400 posts. I cannot for the life of me understand how you got through 5 years of usage out of an Evo and not know what a boost leak test is and how to perform one. I've seen worse things in my life so I'll forgive you for that...
