Just got tuned by Ivey overboost?

Just tuned by Ivey made 310hp 309trq on 23psi. My question is boost is set @23psi but I am getting 24.5, 25.5, 25.8,26, of boost peak showing on my greddy profec B 2, its at 80% with warning set at 26psi, is this normal? Is this safe? I checked all connections,etc... and its good. Car feels very strong after the tune but just gotta know whats up. Any advise?

Mods are: 05 evo, HKS intake, HKS 2.75 DP, 3"test pipe, Greddy Ti-C, Walbro 255, Greddy Type rs BOV recir, Greddy profec B spec2 EBC,

I was tuned by Ivey and saw spikes up to 25psi, although he told me 23psi and thats what the dyno sheet said. I never asked about it, but the car ran strong and very true from that point until the day I sold it. Ivey knows what he's doing so I'm pretty sure you're safe, but I'd like to know the answer anyways.

Your boost gauge is most probably inaccurate.

I'm using the gauge off the Greddy profec. You think its that off? I'm spiking 26 sometimes. Anyone using the profec B spec2?

Is the tuners name Ivey Overboost? Just kidding. I don't think it is bad as long as it is tuned that way. Hopefully knock is minimal and AFR's are good. If so, the boost is fine.

Just lower your seetings on the EBC so that you make 23 psi of boost those settings need to be occasionally adjusted

the same thing happenned to me dyno gives different loads then when on the street... so hook up evoscan to it and see if it is knocking.. if it doesnt you are fine...but if it does adjust lower the gain 2% and see how it affects the spike and adjust from there

Weather also effects boost controllers.

Cold weather is notorious for effecting boost; even on EBC's more so on most MBC's.

I see differences in my peak boost during warmer and colder temps using my Profec.

Actually my Defi boost gauge and Profec read just over 1 psi off too.

Just call Sean; he'll help you out.

When it gets cold like the east coast is experiencing even electronic boost control is unable to compensate. Be prepared to turn it back up this spring

Did we also forget even though the vehicle is warm and at proper operating temps that the car will over boost a bit till the whole turbo and wastegate warms up? I have my car set for 1bar but when I merge on the highway and punch it I get 19.5 psi after about 20-30 mins of driving I merge on to I-87 punch it peak is now 16psi. Get on I-287 peak will be about 15.9 psi trust me either turn down the boost or drive it a little the boost will settle back to normal
