Be careful, that's like coming in here and saying the biggest turbo isn't always best. Nice pics.

Comparisons only really work when all three of the above are the same, which is why before/after data should come from the same shop. And of course, interpreting the data is another matter.

I think the only guys on EVOm who think the largest turbo is the best are the ones that can't figure out how to go faster on a small turbo......there seems to be a plague of that thinking.

lol...that sounds like the most disgusting combo! Maybe I was thinking maybe to broad there Dave, on the Mitsu stuff, certainly alot to gain by doing the chamber...I think some don't because it takes alot of talent to blend it in correctly. We have never sent a ported head besides the Subi EJ and the VQ35 head out without doing them..there is nothing to gain in with those two types.

Sorry I meant does AMS offer heads along the lines of what you were mentioning, ie std size valves is good idea for many applications, etc. Or is every head AMS sells of yours one style?

Nice, I didn't realize we'd met in the past. I like Ara and George, two more of the good racers that went on to do something else. The Import Racing now sucks.

When in reality, the .500 number means almost nothing, although it means something, but you'll never have a cam that big. And the highest flowing head is not always best for your application. A guy with 500whp doesn't need the same head as a guy with 800whp...That is when the shops reputation, cars that run good running there products and the visual quality of there product shines..that is something even the layman can see, and you don't need to understand anything about the internal combustion engine to know and understand it. The man or woman putting your combination together is the one that needs to be in the know...not everyone needs a +1 valve and a race port, or even the chambers done. Your pay for what the person you trust doing your work thinks works for you...from there experience, with your particular combination.

I have seen heads that look like Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder tagged teamed it, flow incredible at .400-.500 lift and run like a dog with flees on the car. We have also seen beautiful race heads like our 2JZ program that had great flowing heads sometimes wouldn't pull the MPH we were looking for..I can tell you that the head we ran 215mph flowed less then the one we ran 211!

Pics of the HeadGames/AMS head...no silly stages, just increased horsepower

so if i was to buy or someone was to buy a headgames head. this is exactly what we would see and get to this level?

Kinda sucks for me. My head qualifies for everything BUT chamber work. At least I think that's the way of it.

I'm guessing DB doesn't think +1 valves offer any benefit or is that a request only upgrade?

The other head posted in this thread isn't quiet the pretty. Looks like the head that headgames posted may have been a brand new core that they started with.
Just my guess.

CBRD, you don't have to drag me into road racing, I'm already there buddy! I've already signed up for Mid Ohio in April.

We do 1mm oversized valves on some heads but it is rare. We build almost all of our heads using a .5 mm oversized valve.
