This guy is such a douche.... He just waves his money in all us poor guys faces... jk

Ryan is a good guy and the shop working on the car is a very experienced 350Z/G35 shop and has branched out into Evos and has a AWD DynoDynamics. They do have a very good Fcon tuner and although the unit is expensive i'd go with it just to keep the OBD port like he is doing. I really hope this beast is done when I get back in town. Knowing my luck it'll be done the day after I get back...

To answer a few of the mentioned topics, I personally dont want to dump the WG to atmosphere because it causes soooo much extra noise. I rather it be quiter (relatively) so I personally like the design of the AMS kit.

If the HTA37R ends up being as good as the HTA35R then there is a chance I may just switch out the turbo in the future if I feel the AMS 37R is too laggy. I have been hearing for quite some time that the HTA37R was coming out "next month" but have not seen a definite release date. Ive been out of a car for almost 2 months now and would rather not sit on my hands for a kit that everyone will probably be all over, meaning that I will have to wait in line just like I waited for the 20G-LT (14weeks when quoted 2-3). I like the idea of doing the entire build through AMS, who is a great company, just like Buschur is. I would assume all of the testing for this motor was done with an AMS head and AMS turbo kit, so I think I will be very happy with this setup.

Just curious, why does everyone seem to hate on the FCon, besides the price is there something that I just dont know about it that some of you know that makes you think its an inferiour product?

Hey man, just spent forever checking this out. To use the HKS mani, you lose the abilitly to retain ABS. It seems like its too much trouble for what it is. Great power gains, but I also thought the power gains on Martins car were impressive, almost 50whp, in large part to the motor Im sure, but then again, Ill be running the same motor. Im still looking into the JUN Mani, but the cost of it alone is enough to turn it down, it cost 2-3times as much as the AMS mani That was a ton of good readin though, thanks again.

No problem I forgot about the ABS issue. I ended up ordering the HKS but it wasn't a concern because I have an 6 RS.. no ABS.

You know one thing to keep in mind, even David was surprised at the gains he got from these intake manifolds. I think for a long time we all might have dismissing the intake manifold as a sort of last step and will make maybe 20 atw. I think we are learning this is incorrect. Take this example, on Dave's car the HKS made like 40 atw or more I think. And that is with the stock TB!

Another point, there is a thread on the MLR where Simon Norris was talking about intake mani's... we was thinking of doing an intake mani test too after people were talking about Dave's test. Anyway, he really, really likes the JUN. He sells the HKS, and likes it, but he likes the JUN more. And get this, he said on one particular customer car, he gained 1000 rpm in spool!!!!! Now maybe the client had a crap mani on before or something I don't know... but I think you can't underestimate the value of a good mani... and when you look at these sheet metal manis compared to the smoothr HKS and JUN parts they just look so much nicer.

In short.. don't skimp... go JUN.

Thats a very good point. With as much as Im putting into this car, I honestly would have no problem going with a JUN mani, I just would like to see some test results from it. It seems to me most of the mani's, minus the HKS one increased lag, which I dont like. If I could increase spool up and pick up decent power, even if it wasnt as much as some of the others, I would probably go that route. You dont happen to know where I can find any test results from the JUN mani do you? I wish Buschur had been able to get their hands on one in time to test it, that would have made my decision easier. Hopefully the JUN one retains the ABS aswell.

Here is the thread off the MLR...

No actual testing, but if Simon Norris says something about an Evo I would be inclined to believe it. Send him an email maybe and see what he says.

Wow, thats some good reading, they really seem fond of the JUN mani. I may have to seriously look into it. If it makes similar power to the HKS, spools as fast as he thinks, and retains the ABS, then Ill be all over it. Im still looking into it. It appears they are about to do some testing of their own over in the UK.

haha, hell ya man. Thats why its not a big deal for me to be without tails for a bit, the car is undergoing quite a long build. Ill post up pics on just about every step, lol. Thanks for all the interest everyone, stay posted

Open question for anyone to answer: Does anyone know where I can get a JUN Intake Manifold without having to wait 2months to get one? I think I would like to try this one out instead of the AMS one, mostly because its another one of those parts that nobody seems to have, and from the sound of it on the UK boards from everyone who has one, its supposed to be better than the Kansai one. Im very interested in getting one. If anyone has any info on where to get one quickly please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys!

AMS is building one for me as we speak. The car is getting dropped off at the end of month for the install and tune.
