Tripp, I wanted to go with this turbo, but I didnt think it had been released yet. Once I found out I could get one I jumped on it. I still have to try and work out a few things with it through AMS as this turbo hasnt been tested yet and Im trying to get it all worked out.

Sick project. More or less i have the same setup my turbo spools about 400 RPMS later compared to a GT35R on the same setup. But for the High Rev you shouldnt rev it pass the 8k range.

I'm sure you'll be happy..
good move considering you had the time to alter your order..
I already have my regular 37R so I may just use it and later on get the HTA..

my motor is going in as we speak...should have reviews VERY soon!

I saw your Blue VIII at Forged Performance last week. It looked sad with no motor in it.

As 11secEvo7 pointed out, the 2.3RR revs to 9K. A traditional stroker is only recommended to 8K but the 2.3RR was designed to rev higher without losing the low end benefits of the stroker. Go read up on it under the AMS section. Its a good read

Ya I miss it. I went up there yesterday and it looked said. The front end looks lifted because of the weight difference without the motor Hopefully in a few weeks it will be back in the car and everything will start coming together. Ive been shooting for mid April to have the car being finished, but that is all dependant on when the parts show up.

YES...on ams's website it says this motor can rev to 9k rpm...but has it been proven day after day? they only results we have seen are only from AMS...
i am not doubting AMS or their products in anyway..i actually am a fan of them.

nevertheless i am sure it is a good engine..

good luck on your builds..and let me know!!

THIS should be done on the dyno ask buschur how he breaks his engine in.. i believe he does it on the dyno.

thats how i break my engines in. just like on my motorcycle, me and my friend both bought the same motorcycles, mine red, his black... i left the bike shop doing a wheelie, and mashing on my bike, my buddy did a 500 mile break-in. after he was satisfied with his break in, us being about the same weight, we did a 60mph roll in 4th gear, 3 honks and both gas'd it. sure enough my bike was a little faster. IMHO i believe you should break your engine in the way its going to be driven. with my experience it seemed to work.

to each his own.

definitely keep us updated, very excited to see the results, this engine really has me excited, along with the new HTA37 its like a dream list of modifications.

I thought something didn't look right about it up front and then Dylan said there was no motor in it.

Yes and no. The motor will be partially broken in on the dyno, but AMS recommends 3000 mile break in on all their new engines. I also have a new clutch to break in, so I cant just beat on it from the get go. About 90% of the break in can be done on the dyno, but my tuner wants me to drive the car around on a mild tune for a week or two and put some more miles on it, which I think is a good idea. Then Ill bring it back and we can do some high hp tuning with it. I think with the money going into this build we both rather be on the safe side and make sure everything is done properly and in the best interest of the car in the long run.

To answer the other question by dxbevo9, Im running the 9.25:1 aswell.

I'll definitely be inviting anyone local in the area to come out for the final dyno pulls, Ill keep everyone posted on the status of the build. As you all can imagine I am really excited about this build.
