My guess....since 42 won't be prepped for sheit and you won't be able to cut any type of good 60 ft.

10.8 @ 134

I'll be there around 6:30 pm or so. I went last Tuesday and they did a 'ok' job prepping.

I'm hoping for 11.3's at 123 mph on 93 octane & 23 psi

Well, I just got a phone call about the first run.

peaked 27psi boost
spun through 1st and 2nd
1.8 60'

I'm not giving the rest away, but lets just say the pump gas record may be in jeopardy.

Just got home from the track a few minutes ago. Pulled in and met up with David and Trent. Unloaded the spare tire, jack and tool kit and jumped in line within minutes of arriving. First run cut a 1.8111 60' spinning through first and second gear, managing a 10.9 @134.37, shifting like a grandma, with no changes to the car since the initial tune on Dave's Dyno. Also I had 3/4 of a tank of gas in her. I did turn the boost down a couple weeks ago as the temperature at night gets pretty cold and I hit boost cut a couple of times in 3rd.. Peak boost on the first run was 27 so it was down about 3lbs.

I made another 4 passes tonight and each run I either missed 4th gear or the AEM would shut off after the 60'.This doesn't surprise me that this was going to happen, it cutout more than a few times last year. I will be taking the ecu out and sending it back to AEM to look at it. As soon as I get that back I will be back out there trying to make myself faster. This car is a completely different animal than last year running 11.0 on E85 with the green. It takes way more skill getting it out of the hole consistently.

I would like to thank David and Trent for the driving tips and support. It has been a short while since we have all gotten a chance to hang out and have a good time. Without your parts and superior tunning this would have never been possible. I believe with a better prepped track I am fairly confident this car could go 10.50's or better on pump gas. Chris it was good to see you again and I sure hope you won the trap speed contest again this week.

If you guys have any questions on anything I may have left out please feel free to ask.

Thanks,

Eric

10.92 at 134.7 mph, first pass of the night. I was in line behind Eric when he ran it and I SWEAR there were black marks PAST the 60' clocks where the car spun the tires violently.

Eric can give more details but the car was a handful to drive. Oh, AFR's were 10.90-11.02:1 and the boost was only at 27 PEAK psi.

EDIT:

Haha, Eric must have been typing exactly when I was. I am 100% sure 10.50's are going to happen and I say at close to 140 mph with the boost up at 30 psi. I'll get the ECU out quickly.

Impressive run and trap speed which is indicative of the power the car is making.

Eric....

You mentioned the AEM "shutting off" on you; meaning total power was lost to the unit?

I assume this car is running the BR inline boost controller as well?

Congrats.

6-speed,

Yes, the car would actually turn off and then back on. One of the runs it shut off and the laptop said the ecu was "offline" when the key was on. I turned the key off and the radiator fan was still running, turned the key back on but the ecu would not go back "online". So I was towed off the track. David unplugged the wiring harness from the AEM and the plugged them back in and the car started right up and ran fine.

This track is very bumpy and in poor condition. It is quite possible the harsh vibrations of the launch contributed to the problem.

I remember that ECM cutting out on you last year man at a track rental we had.

It is so awsome to see Dave is backing you on getting that problem fixed (of course I WOULDNT expect anything less from BR)!!!

Great job Eric, I was right on the trapping over 130. Maybe I can join you guys sometime after work in the next few weeks?

I am pumped about getting back to the track

Damn AEM . Ive heard of them doing this on other cars as well. But AEM makes good on fixing or replaceing them so.

Congrats though Eric. You cant argue with a 10 second pass no matter what.

I've had some connection problems through the USB-Serial adapter I use to connect the AEM to my laptop when logging on bumpy roads, but I doubt it's nowhere near the vibration/movement associated with a 10 second dragstrip run.

At least we know you're in good hands.

Good luck.

VWJeff, let me know ahead of time when you planning on coming up. We can figure out something fun to do. I owe you a couple beers as well.
