Carbon Pistons??
I saw this in another forum & thought you fine gentlemen might be interested in this. Has anyone had or head about anything about these?
Weight is big added benefit, but what about tighter clearences due to less expansion.
Thoughts?
Price : TBA
When choosing a piston for an engine, there is a common saying that lighter is better. If the piston rings can somehow be eliminated, we can minimize friction. With these common facts in mind, ATS & ACROSS has created a piston that is 60% of an aluminum piston's weight and retains 1/20th of aluminum's expansion rate. The carbon piston is capable of higher levels of revolutions with plenty of efficiency and can change the way we build engines forever.

Here is some additional info from another company that produces carbon pistons.

if you read the second link it gives a pretty clear picture of how neat the pistons are. From there you have to imagine the expense.
or give these guys a call for a quote

I'm really very curious about this. I gave this company a call today & left them a message, let's see what they come back with. They also are testing carbon rods.....
I let you guys know, what I hear.
