Wrong. Stock IX turbo spools around 3500. A 3076 spools at 4200-4400. With a twin scroll or soon HTA it will spool quicker. But as I stated before finish the supporting mods before you look at a larger turbo, especially if lag is bothering you now. I know personally that unless a mustang is turbod or supercharger it doesn't have a chance. Just add some meth and cossies and you won't have a problem. Over 400whp for just $1000 more than what you have now. Sorry PHIL_N_THE_EVO but seeing that you have an ATP 35r kit it is hard to see you give turbo advice.

I agree with the turboed stangs, but I thought htat went without saying. I do not want meth. I want big safe ponies on 93 octane without meth or nitrous. Someone out there.....

That is gonna be a problem then since in a turbo car speed comes with psi. A green and cams on pump will get you to 400whp and a very solid car. Will spool at 3800.

An HTA3076 will spool hopefully around 4k and make anywhere from 400-430whp on pump. Anything larger and it becomes a worthless upgrade because the larger turbo's only shine on high boost and you will have a crappy power curve for a DD. Meth is the best thing for a DD larger turbo or even a stock turbo car.

itsounds like meth might be the way to go then? I was hoping to stay away from this since I have heard it is not as safe. If I do go the meth route, what else do I need to support it and what power level can i expect?

haha isnt 372whp enough for your dd?

I would say cams would put you over the 400 mark , i wouldnt get meth seems like a hassle dealing with two tanks of fuel IMO.

I dont think you need head studs or a new gasket either, its waste of money your not pushing a whole ton of boost.

I'm not calling you out, but in one post you say you don't need cams, and then a few post down you say to get cams, which is it? Granted no one NEEDS more horsepower, but I think the op is asking what is required before upgrading to a larger turbo.

RevMoto are you using stock injectors with your current setup?

cams will not necessarily give you whp. i have cosi cams and only got around 15 whp and 30+wtq. i am at 360whp 380wtq and also am looking for that extra something. right now i am going with a aquamist hfs-1 and an fpgreen and full race mani will be in the works as well. but i do agree with some of the people on here that say dont go higher than 3076 unless u plan on beefing up your head with studs, springs, retainers, seats, and seals.

It is not needed on a bolt on car. I have been seeing a lot of IX's hitting 360whp consistently. I am getting them because I am trying to hit 400whp on pump. You will see a gain with them and stronger midrange but they are pretty expensive for the gains.

Also I am on stock injectors.

Call Buschur they will cut thru all the BS and tell you exactly what you need to make the HP goal you have set and without selling you alot of crap you dont need. They have done this build so many times there is no one who has more dyno experience with these engines period. You will save money and deal with someone who actually has tested just about every combination out there.

If you mod, stuff will break. IMO your goals are completely unrealistic. For starters your clutch won't handle 450awhp... then there's the dynamite MR transmission.. then there's trying to get 450awhp on 93 octane (assuming no meth) ... with Meth there's the reliability thing again ... etc.
