My Dyno Dynamics pulls...

Finally got a chance to throw my car on the "Dyno Dynamics" dyno at DG MOTORS in Lindenhurst, NY. First off let me start by saying what a great bunch of guys to deal with...il post more of that great experience with pics in SERVICE/TUNING PARTS Review. For now, let me start by saying ive never had my car on any dyno as of yet, but the guys at the shop informed me this particular dyno would give you the most accurate reading compared to the sometimes inflated or misunderstood DYNOJET readings. In fact they changed some of the settings (dont ask me which ones, those guys knew what they were doing) to give me what numbers a DYNOJET would put out. Both pulls are posted below. Anyone else have their car pulls done on a Dyno Dynamics dyno? I was happy with the results i really dont have anything drastic done just a bolt-on semi DD that pulled good with no-knock and great AF ratio's.
The DYNO DYNAMICS pull....

When settings were changed to a similar DYNOJET, then pull #2...

So, are you saying the bottom graph is setup based on how a dyno jet would read? If so, that's a pretty substantial difference for the top one. 288HP is pretty good with your limited mods!

I've been dyno'd at a Dyno Dynamics and have seen the difference in between both a dyno jet and a dyno dynamics.

Here is a link to what my car made on a dyno dynamic this past friday night...

Congrats on the results.

I made 370awhp on Pruvens Dyno Jet and later dynoed on DSG's Dyno Dynamics at 320awhp.

The reason why a Dyno Dynamics reads so low is because it adds load to the car. Same w/ a Mustang dyno. A dynojet does not. So getting tuned on a load bearing dyno is preferred because it's similar to getting tuned on the road.

Hey Tony, it was great having you down yesterday! The car is a really strong daily driver. I have to say that this was the cleanest evo that has been in my shop so far. The car looked like it just rolled off the show room floor, and the engine bay was clean and spotless!

That works out to a 15% difference, and is about right. Set the correction factor to 1.15, and that gives an approximation of a Dynojet.

If the car in the original post (288whp) were to go to a Dynojet, it should see about 330whp. 345whp seems a little on the optimistic side, but take it all with a grain of salt..

why on earth would the torque be the same in "dynojet" mode compared to normal mode, but the horsepower be higher in "dynojet" mode.

hp is calculated off trq.

Chart 1: (normal DynoDynamics)

trq @ 5252 rpm = 260
hp @ 5252 rpm = 260

Chart 2: (Dynojet mode)

trq @ 5252 rpm = 260
hp @ 5252 rpm = 320

(Torque X RPM) / 5252 = Horsepower

So the first chart is correct using that calculation but chart 2 is totally wrong. Unless the dynojet mode chart is showing normal DynoDynamics torque but Dynojet hp. It makes no sense whatsover that the dynojet simulated pull would have the same torque but higher hp.

Am I missing something here?

Actually, neither chart is correct with respect to rpm.

HP and TQ must cross at 5252 rpm, so in both charts, either HP or TQ or both are not in sync with the reported rpm.

True that is correct. Still doesn't makes sense that torque is pretty much the same in both charts but horsepower is higher in the second.

The HP and TQ are deffintitly not crossing correctly. This is a brand new dyno to these fellas so I will cut them so slack but something is wrong with the settings. Good luck guys, look forward to seeing you soon.
