Is this covered under the 60,000 mile drivetrain warranty? anyone tried to get the dealer to fix this?

I've heard the Evo referred to as a " Noise *****" they do talk to you a lot, kind of gives them character, as long as you know what you are listening to. I had the same problem with my BMW trans until I listened to a couple of others with the same year-model. Found out some cars make particular noises. Mechanical music...

My 2003 sounded like a coffee grinder.

well, ive decided to install a new clutch, flywheel, throw out bearing, and pilot. If that dosen't cure the problem than maybe i'll try and have a chat with the dealership. At 40k miles, i figured its also time for a new clutch/flywheel. Just gotta find a good price and an experienced mechanic. Thanks to everyone's input on this. Im somewhat relieved and also afraid. I find myself now turning off the radio while driving just to listen for any more abnormal sounds. Ill keep this updated just in case anyone one of you are curious.
