What boost level is necessary for a cop system? Or horsepower?

We have never preached adding a cop system as being a necessary mod by boost level or horsepower...WHY? because there are too many variables. What will work for one combo will NOT work for the other. What I can tell you is we've seen gains on as little as 300whp. One can out a fire with a garden hose...however the fire department doesn't choose to use that method. What works on a dyno will often not work once the car is loaded in real world conditions..i.e wind resistance, load etc. What you get away with in cooler temps of winter will plague you as temps start to warm up. Richer fuel/air mixtures require more spark energy.
One can get away by closing the plug gaps until the seat of the pants feeling that there are no misfires and be content. That doesn't mean there are NONE. Another big gain of adding an adequate Ignition system is being able to increase plug gaps drastically improving drivability particularly off boost cruise/part throttle. If you only drive WOT and don't feel any misfires your good until summer .

Damn! Nice answer! I was asking because I could use an ignition system do to your as mentioned above senario. I know my buddy Jesse with a dsm runs a old school ignition amp and runs 52psi all year round. I'm trying to see if I do put your system on if I could benefit from it. Being more power. Definatly not coming at you to start anything cause your systems are great and work great. I want to know what system would be good for my particular setup. Thank you for your input!

^No worries I didn't take it as if you were trying to start anything. I just thought I would explain somethings that are often missed. It's obvious you are looking to extract the most out of your combo and that's great. Nice results thus far...Congrats.

Are you using a standalone ecu?
