Hello,
Sound just like a bearing on its way out on the alternator, power steering, water pump pulley. I had the same exact noise on my 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S and it was my alternator and I just went ahead and got it rebuilt.

Hope this helps

There are a couple of threads on this already but it seems to be the tensioner, mainly on IX's. I have the same noise too I just havent had the time to go in for it.

116 miles is pretty darn far. Hell I have to drive 95 miles to the dealer just to have them look at my wing for warranty replacement And the district manager who makes those decissions on something like that goes to that dealer 2 times a month otherwise I have to drive even farther .
I know how ya feel bro

hey dude my car makes the EXACT same noise. sometimes it even goes away. mine is a 9 with 24000 miles on it. It has done this since the summer. no problems though. no loss of power. I am going to be doing cams this weekend on the car and will try to further inspect. my first guess was one of the accessories pulleys, or pulley bearings...If you get to a mitsu dealer PLEASE post and let us know what the hell needed replacing. thanks dude. good luck with it
