pretty soon i be running 28-30 psi on stock turbo with hotside, O2 housing, Ported stock manifold and aquamist (meth injection) + the mods i have below in my sig and dont need the head studs yet. i think its a good mod when u get a new bigger turbo and actually making high power. i think up to 480-500 HP ur okay.

I have heard that even with the FP Green turbo one doesnt need to upgrade the valve train. Cuz green is similar to the evo 9 turbo

BUT thats just my opinion. Ask around!!!

I agree with that. Have faith in the headstuds

I have YET to see any evo actually stretch the factory head studs not due to being a dumbass tuner and detonating like mad.

I'm sticking with the factory studs.

seriously? at 480-500whp i would be thinking about building the whole BLOCK, not just contemplating headstuds. I know you can make that power on the stock block and stock headstuds, but it doesn't mean it's a safe idea. that's why many people just do them when they upgrade their cams. i'm not saying the stock head studs are bad, but for a $120 safety net, why not?

Usually takes like about 800psi from detonation to require ARP headstuds, this can be at 23psi or 30 psi boost. Depends on temps too.

I'm doing 26 psi on the green, no new studs but the driver.

I'm tuned for no knock though. That's very important.

exactly, its not an exact boost at all that determines when you need them. detonation pressure is a lot more than your boost pressure. of course higher boost will more likely cause higher detonation pressure if there is any detonation in the first place. My philosophy is if your running 27-30 psi or higher I would replace it, we all will knock at some point, better safe than sorry.
but you can run 34psi all day long for years with no problems that is for sure.
its all a matter of your philosophy, some like me "better safe than sorry"
others "dont fix something that aint broke"

detonation is what u have to worry about, not what PSI ur running. stockers will do just fine as long as there is no detonation/knocking going on.

E85

I'm going to be running E85 and 26-28 psi(on stock turbo) here soon. I will have eric ficker tune it, he is pretty well known around here. So my question is if I should upgrade to arp head studs. It's not the $95 I'm worried about for the part but the install cost...thanks

I'm doing 26-27psi on the FP Green with E85 and I am still on the stock headstuds.
