what are the best cams to get? i was lookin at gsc camshafts. and i wanna get a tune after i get them. i have 300whp now, how much would i get after getting cams and a tune?

You'll probably pick up 20 whp just from the cams when tuned for them. You may pick up slightly more than 20 whp though when getting tuned after adding the cams, depending on how well tuned your car was beforehand.

 

ive never had my car tuned before, but idk how to tell if the guy that owned it before me did, is there a way to tell? sorry im new to all this import stuff

 

how do u know ur at 300awhp then? anyways, kelford 272 is the way to go

 

cuz when i bought the car from the dealership the guy told me it had like 292 or something like that. how much boost does a stock evo 8 have? cuz in 3rd not even redlined i had 17 about. but im new to all this so i dont know much.

idk what the guy before me put on, the dealer told me they put on a bov its recirculation, but i cant find it on my car, i can hear it but idk where to look. he said it had aftermarket exhaust put on, but idk if i need to get under my car to see what kind or if theres a spot on the exhaust that says the brand and everything. other than that just a boost gauge.

 

haha ur a super newb! theres a little "pipe" that goes from the upper ic pipe to the intake pipe, the BOV will be there.... but u are definatley not 300whp... but this thread is about cams, so my recommendation is kelford, but u should definately do all the other boltons before cams...

tbe, intake, Intercooler+piping, boost controller, spark plugs, tune.. since ur a newb, u MUST get TUNED for basically every mod u put on, so its wise to do as much as possible all at once

 

I think u should do a little more research before ur even start thinking about cams, start by finding out what aftermarket parts u do have, post up pics of your exhaust and or any other questionable parts you might have, if u have too.
