*NEW* tune w/ cosworths
There ARE PLENTY of people who have make 25+ whp by upgrading to M2 cosworth, there are threads in this boards showing dyno graphs and testimonies. You just dismissed in this thread a guy who told you he MADE 25+ whp by upgrading cams only while keeping the PSI at 26 before and after.....even better, he said his results at the track were great......8+ mph trap speed from 600 dollars upgrade is a winner in my book and hard to beat.
Of course tuning is important, you might only gain 2whp by bolting an aftermarket IC but if you tune the car....the new IC will allow you to run a more agressive timing curve, probably one more pound of boost because of cooler temperatures especially at higher RPMs where peak power is made.

Expected gains from cams on a 9 should be about 15whp. If you see more it means your previous tune probably sucked or your new tune isn't safe.
I would like to hear what all these big gains... cammed... 9s are running for trap speeds. Dyno numbers are pretty much meaning less. 20whp on a dynojet might only be 10whp on a mustang dyno.... or it might mean the temp dropped 10*.
At least a trap speed is a trap speed. Stock uncorked EVO9s normally run 116-118mph. So these cammed beasts should be hitting 120. Post up them slips.
Jeff has a good point that most dont want to see .
Look at his 1/8 traps in his sig , its hard to F-ck with 94mph with his mods (or lack of) !
BTW , It would take about +/-80 HP to gain 8 MPH in the 1/4 not 28 HP . Something sounds a little off with that .
EDIT
Oh you beat me to the puch with the 8 mph gain

sorry if you got confused.../\ tryin to lure people in...
but the tune will be goin down this wednesday.
I really started this thread to showcase the increase in power the cams will have since the last tune was only a few weeks ago. I have a estimate of HP/TQ already but its always nice to see how close or how far off we may be...
will update later fo sho...

What's going down Matt? Give us some updates bra! This Thursday I'll finally put my rims on with some 245/40/18 Falken RT615s!
Holla! How's the beach ****?
Well ( Mitsutech56 ) finished my M2's today, wow it looks good,, right off the back i noticed a smother trend in the acceleration and quicker, also noticed the boost hits quicker,,, we havent even tunned the car Jestr will tune her hopefully monday,, and then Sat i will throw her on the Dyno, i will post up to see what we do also i have dynoed my car before the cam so we will be able to see what these cam do
whatever dude,,,, all you have been doing is theorize how cams dont make power ,,, when there are tons of proof with dyno chart around this forum.
ill post my graph tomorow of the post cam installation and ill post the pre ,,, datalog showed we made power.
all you have brought to this thread is stupidity.
thats whats AND !!

like i said i have pre dynoed the IX without cams on pump gas 24 pounds tomorow i will dyno with the cams at same boost level, and i will post both charts and see the 15-20 WHP we gained,,, and by the way the tunner has always been the same Jestr, the tune has always been a kick *** one
i think otown will be posting his too

I think what people are saying is that the OP is probably not going to see huge gains because he's on the stock turbo. Moving the powerband up in the rpm range doesnt help as much if your turbo runs out of steam at 6500 rpms now does it? He'll make something but it probably won't justify the cost of the cams, labor, tuning. The OP could probably gain more power just by turning up the boost and retuning.
The stock IX cams are very well suited to the stock turbo.

Now .... how many sets of evo9 cams have been sold? I suspect crap loads of them.... so where are all the 120mph trapping EVOs at?
The truth is....... The EVO9 is limited by octane not cams.
There are hundreds of theads on this forum that have dyno charts that not even two people can agree on. Dynos are fluff and mean nothing. I can take my lapping day tune and add 2* of timing across the board and see 20whp jump. I can take my car to the same dyno on a cold day and see a 20whp jump. I can change nothing other than putting my car on a dynojet and see a 35whp jump. Simply dynoing in 4th gear compared to 3rd gear will show a big gap in power.
SHOW ME ALL THE MF'ing 120MPH TRAPS!!!!!
