Time for Clutch...ACT HDSS or Exdey Twin plate?

Well, I just got my evo IX about 3 months ago and I already need a clutch.

I would like to push approx 400-450whp in the future, but will probably be on the stock turbo for a while. I have an ACT HDSS setup in my 350z, but I have heard a few bad comments about its lockout and ability to launch on the ACT setup. The Exedy Twin plate seems nice, but is it worth the cost over the ACT clutch/flywheel setup? The Exedy twin includes a flywheel correct?

Can anyone who have gone from the ACT to the exedy and comment on its pros/cons? Was it worth it?

I do not recommend ACT at all.

Currently im running HDSS, (my 2nd ACT). same problem i could not shift fast on high rpm due to lockout problem. yes, did adjusted clutch travel, to no avail.

I'm in the same boat

Installed the ACT when i put in the built shortblock and had 4th gear lockout at 8200 rpm numerous times (thought it was mainly driver error and could still be as i have very limited seat time at the track)

Tried ACT's suggestions as to revving the car to 7000 w/ the clutch depressed and the car didn't roll an inch so i'm assuming the adjustment is correct.

The tranny had been looked over when they did the gear swap and everything was said to be in good shape(tranny only has 3500 miles on it)

I'm planning on going the Exedy Twin route but just hope it holds as i hope to get towards 550-600 WHP on a Mustang Dyno.

Please lmk your experience with it if you decide to go that route.

As long as you can deal with the noise there is only one choice... the Exedy twin.

I have act and I dont' get lockout due to adjusting pedal correctly, however, it doesn't seem to go in gear as quickly as stock..

also, ever since installed, i'm getting an annoying 5th gear grind, possibly due to the pressure plate stifness.. i dont know..

SO get the twin...... i can't wait to burn this clutch up
