Evo IX BOV stop leak mod?

Original write up I followed and completed:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...hlight=GUS+mod

My question:
Need someone to shed some light on the 2nd part of this mod.

Now that I did the mod that the OP showed, of course im getting extremely bad flutter and bucking on decel. Now I do know there is a 2nd part that needs to be done. Now that there is a hole in the side of the BOV that i drilled, shouldnt this hole be plugged with a vacuum line and routed to the LICP?? I heard this stops the bad flutter. Anyone with information on how to do this 2nd step, chime in!
THANKS!

The real question is why did you mod your perfectly good IX BOV when you're only running 23psi?

+1 on that...I was thinking the same thing.

The IX BOV should be good to 25-26lbs of boost...atleast the two Ive been through were.

They guy's looking for info on how to do step 2, not reasons why he made a mistake. He may only be running 23 psi now, but maybe he cranks it up with some race gas or something.

Your points are valid, as I may have not needed to do this mod at only running 23psi, but the OP stated this was to hold boost better.
*But now as I have done the mod, I have terrible flutter/sputter and need to know how to complete the 2nd step on running a vaccum hose from the whole i drilled in the bov to.....where? Im assuming to the turbo outlet nipple?

*Update* Tired of waiting for help, so Im just going to fill the drill hole on the bov, and unfill the hole inside the bov converting it back to the stock setup. This mod actually sucks terribly and makes the car drive extremely rough. Thanks for the responses...as little as they were.

Hey man. PM Turbolag4500 and ask him about "crushing" the IX DV. He showed me how to do it and I can show you. I plan on doing the same thing.

this mod works well with AEM or other ems that can run on speed density, where the compressor surge doesn't play hell wth the stock maf. IMO the mod isn't worth **** unless your cheap and want to run 30+ pounds of boost. What you described about running a boost line from the drilled hole in the bov to the LICP is pointless because it basically defeats the purspose of doing the mod in the first place, you would be giving the lower diaphram of the bov pressure under boost, lowering how much pressure the bov can actually hold. That's why when you get rid of the lower diaphrams pressure source ( the hole you fill...) and just VTA it can hold more boost without leaking, the drawback is, it won't open really at all under "low" boost levels, giving you comp. surge and sucky driveability. Leave the bov un-modified, and if you want the run more then 25-26ish psi, get a better bov

Probably going to revert the BOV back to stock. Since I do not need to hold 30psi there is no need to do this.

Thanks for the helpful info. Seems like people are confused about this mod and what positive and or negative effects it has. All I know is that by doing this mod it made the car run terrible. The stock IX bov is a good holding bov, so im not going to spend hundreds on a new one. I Will be reverting it back to stock later today.

Crushing is a good idea. DSM guys did it to make the DVs hold more boost without buying a new DV altogether.
