More power with response wanted!
Hi,
I drive my car daily but still want a car that can hit 11's on the qtr mile and be a good track car/daily.
I run only pump gas. No meth or NOS as NOS is illegal in Australia and meth is not a common path here and so lacks in knowledge.
Im currently running 1.6bar and making just under 350whp(4th gear). Im aiming for 400-450whp but am struggling to find a turbo capable of this other then the HTA35R except i think it will be too laggy. I'm happy to loose a bit down low but not half!
Mods are as follows:
- JUN 2.2lt (ARP studs etc)
- All fuel modes (255lph pump, 880cc injectors, rail etc)
- HKS 272 intake and ex cams
- Motec m800 ecu
-Full HKS 3inch turbo back exhaust.
- FP Green turbo
- Ported std ex manifold.
Graph below represents, green line with a test pipe and red with high flow cat.

Is there anything else i can do to gain some top end? Or what turbo would you recommend?
I love the response of the green, just wish it had more top end! to stop it flattening out.

Perhaps you should mod it a bit further. Maybe try a larger FMIC, larger throttle body, ported intake manifold, hotter cams, stainless O2 housing, LICP upgrade. If all else fails then experiment with Meth, as it will give you a guaranteed rush.
I have a Trust Type R front mount and piping which is heat wrapped. I have a HKS GT pipie which is a front and dump.
Only thing that hasnt been done to the engine is a intake manifold and throttle body? Not sure if they are worth the cost and what kind of gains i can expect?
Anyone know of any good intake manifolds and throttle bodies at a reasonable cost? I was under the impression that these would only yield good results on a much larger turbo?

That is very strange to me to see a nice flat torque curve but a drop off in power around 6500rpm. Could be that the turbo is just out of its effective range at that point especially since you have a 2.2L.
Things I'd be looking at:
- LICP (the stock narrows down to a rediculous 1.5"..)
- FMIC (you've upgraded the turbo and a racing intercooler will have less back pressure)
Beyond that the HTA 3076 should meet your needs for a 450whp turbo injectors "should" be fine.
Edit:
Saw your post on the Type R FMIC.
Ported intake by buschur is cost effective for your HP goals.

A ported cylinder head and a set of JUN 272's should net you about 30 WHP with the proper tuning. But, they are relatively expensive mods. Roadspike may be right about it being time for you to move up to a larger CFM turbo(HTA 3076). The Green is only as good as the octane you feed it. It starts to shine above 26 PSI.

BTW.. since you live in aussie what is the maximum fuel octane you can give it.
Also please provide if the octane number is PON, RON, or MON
You will gain a lot of top end if you switch back to the stock BCS system with a #65 pill and use a Forge 20psi WGA.
Your boost is tapering way to much for the Green... I'm able to hold 25psi solid from 3600RPM until 7500RPM in 3rd gear using this setup. This is on straight 93 pump gas, an aggressive timing map, and stock cams. I anticipate being able to run 11's, but I haven't been to the track yet.
If I read your mods correctly, you have a 2.2 stroker, 272 cams, the green, and all supporting mods... what on EARTH is stopping you from running 11's ?

Note: He's using a Motec 800 standalone ECU. The Motec has a fairly sophisticated integral boost control system. The Motec pulses the WG and can be used with manifold pressure restrictor orifices if so desired. Additionally. it features overrun boost ehancement, which is its own Anti-lag system.

But now that you mention it the tuner did set the boost to 1.75 bar the achieve a stable 1.6-1.65 bar. I thought nothing of it as thought it was normal. Could the HI Psi Actuator from FP not be enough due to running a 2.2lt?
This is the actuator i currently have: http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...Category_Code=
P.S. The pulsating is as described by 'Sparky' above and is a Motec feature.
