Light weight pulley question

A friend of mine instaled in his STI a light weight puelly and he told me that bost starts to build up faster than before. I have not seen any talk about doing this on a EVO. Has anyone tried something like this, and does it work?

It's not worth it... you are risking the health of the Alternator, Power Steering, Air Conditioning, etc. all for what is realistically under 5whp.

Been doing this on STI's for years and there is no risk as its not a harmonic but a mere dampened pulley. On Evos the pulley is much lighter and there is no need to change it.

Big debate whether the stock pulley is a dampener or not. Lots of people have run them without any issues since it is the same size. I plan to install mine when I'm not lazy.

Thank you very much. I suspected that is was not worth changing it since I have not seen much discussion about it.
thanks again.

Had a cousin who installed the perrin crank pulley on his Evo. He said the car pulls stronger after he put it on. After one month of the install he had his engine built with a 2.3 stroker and the pulley area whined like crazy for a few seconds on start ups. He then sold his car two months later so long term affects are unknown.

is this what we are talking about?

Right now I'm planning on making a smooth engine, hopefully i'm right going with springs/retainers, no tick lifters, valves, and this harmonic damper. Some peoples description seems to sound like an underdrive pully?

Any opinions?
