car is back together, tuning done with video
well I guess we will just have to dig deeper into the car to figure out why it won't go over 40lbs on the dyno. We are using the AEM boost control. I started it out at wastegate spring only by hooking a pressure source straight to the side port of the gate, That gave us 30lbs on the spring itself. Hooked up the AEM boost controller controlled via the AEM EMS and set it to 35, it hit 35. Set it to 38, it hit 38, set it to 40 it hit 40, set it to 42 and it stayed at 40
Made adjustments to the duty cycle map on the boost control duty table, kept upping the duty cycle and still at 40lbs. Set the boost to 45lbs, and it still stuck at 40lbs. No matter what I did, even having the boost duty cycle pretty much maxed out it would not go over 40lbs.
Now at the track we got it up to 43lbs since the turbo is a ram air mounted manifold setup. So we expected the boost to come up some.
After redoing some things on the boost controller and the boost map, there was nothing that was changing it. I wouldn't suspect it would be the wastegate spring as when I ran it on the waste gate spring alone it hit 30lbs without a problem. It was on the standard Tial spring too, so that lend me to believe there was hardly any back pressure at the housing at all. But once I got to 40lbs it was a brick wall, it would not give me anymore then 40lbs on the dyno.
So I was thinking it might have the housing holding us back since it is only a 1.00A/R housing. Maybe I'm wrong then. I will look further into the boost control setup and check for leaks at 40lbs. Although it showed no boost leaks prior.

thanks, I think I'm going to keep this setup for a while, maybe change some things around a little bit, but I really like this 42r on my setup. The spool is amazing, feels just like my stroker/67 setup only it hits much harder and I can rev it to 10k.
I really like how much power this made with only 40lbs of boost, we were hoping to get it to 48lbs or so, but I wasn't really concerned on dyno numbers and was happy with how it was at 40. I figured the boost would go up at the track. So was thinking of trying the 1.15 housing out and see if we could make more boost and power. Let me know when it's available to test

Like Dan said, it made tons of power with only 40lbs. I was extremely impressed, but kinda bummed out that we couldn't get it to 48-50lbs just to see what it could have done, it was picking up a ton of power from 35lbs to 40lbs. I was amazed.

Ignore the player haters and do your thing Dan....I have more respect for your ride than any of the others out there and I think it is great that you gave evil eagle the oppurtunity to take the car under his wing so to speak...I can attest he does great work with evos as well as old school dsms! Goona do a head gasket, timing belt, and water pump on mine here soon hopefuly along with an e85 tune and MAYBE if you dont sell the rs, we can run em if I make it to vegas next time jake comes down

Understatement of the year!
Kinda cool to see all 4 go up in smoke like it did on that launch when the shifter cable pop out on th 1-2shift.But definitely we need to drop the boost back down to say 25lbs-30lbs in 1st gear to get the thing to hook up.
On the pass on Saturday he made where he missed all the shifts, Dan cut a 1.57 60ft. lighting the tires up like it was the 4th of july
yeah, the moment i got in the car, I could tell that shifter felt odd, I told Jake in the pits I was going to roll it out and make sure it shifted fine, unfortunately the cable popped off the bracket right off the launch. Just got my cables/bracket ordered so should get it all fixed this week.
hey sorry Tony, missed your quote earlier. Jake has been a great help, has done way more than expected. I can see its a passion he has just as me. We are both just regular guys wanting to race and work with what we have. It's unfortunate we don't have the big sponsors like others or free parts or service as I'm sure we could do much more. Thanks for your support, positive comments help me keep this going.

Hey man it is my pleasure. I hope that eventually my car can come close to the level yours is and I know it is more of a possibility with Jakester around. As soon as I get my next vehicle, my caer will be under going some major changes, my finances permitting. Ive been happy with what mine has done being a daily driver but it is time to step it up and your car and jakes urging me to go bigger and faster will be a constant factor in me getting her where I want. Now go get that 8 sec. pass!

ill take 3 of those!!!! that evo is ruthless
