i was looking into buying cams with gears but im hearing you need to upgrade your valvetrain is this true and is it worth it i will be using a stock turbo with a **** load of bolt ons but not going into the block til november

 

U can use stock valvetrain on a lot of cams.


HKS 272's are a good choice, or GSC S1's

 

so what you are saying hks camshaft will work with my stock block and stock valvetrain

 

should if you don't rev it too high

 

better play safe to upgrade spring n retainer kits

 

u can run 272 280s hks..and be fine..as long as you dont rev over 9k....i was floating valves with gsc 280s...reving to 9 on stock springs...
its a decent sized job to do..but if your doing cams..thats the best time if you have the extra money...

 

I ran HKS 272's for 40k miles with 0 problems and made 500+whp with them, stock block, stock valvetrain.
