resistance on egt probe?
resistance on egt probe?
do you guys know what the resistance in ohms should be on a cold greddy egt sensor?60 deg f any other way to test for probe failure?what is the output voltage or mv or resistance it should be when warm or at full idle warm?thanks

well thermocouples are gonna give you a mV or millivolt output and of course an RTD will vary in resistance. I'll see if I can find a chart for you. It should probably be a "K" type thermocouple.
roughly 619 mV should be the output @ 60f this is only an estimate. I found a chart for output using Celsius so I had to find a conversion table for F to C then cross reference the output for C

as far as i can tell looks like k type.yes probally right for mv and not volts.assume resistance will change as gets warmer so was trying to get base idea.i can convert to c if you have tha also thanks for the help junky
i agree with you on the nike comment how true.

Well as far as color goes in the U.S. "J" is red/white and "K" is red/yellow with both reds being the negative. I got Megan Racing EGT and it was red/white but not "J" over seas they have a different color code than we do. I should know because I work in an Instrument shop. I'm not totally clear on what else you're looking for though. Do you need a link to what I found? Maybe that'll help you out.
