NEW EVO what bolt ons to get need help!

hey guys well i just got back from iraq and i bought my self an evo 9 MR right before i deployed so im stoked to have it again. i have the HKS hi power exhaust, downpipe, and turbo timer. i want to add some more gains but i want to make sure what im putting on is right and not because i think it sounds or looks cool i want my car to stay reliable. I'v always been very conserned with my cars condition so i always pay good money for my parts becuase i believe in you "pay for what you get." just as i did with my 05 rsx type s but, this car is a totally different breed... on some upcoming mods i was thinking of a O2 housing, test pipe, intake with upper intercooler piping, a turbo manifold (if nesesary) and a tune....also i know the evo doesn't respond well to a BOV running low numbers and low boost so should i totally count this part out untill i make higher numbers? if you have opinions on any other parts i should get or a part that is better then what i have listed to add let me know. thanks

you have an evo 9 so your bov is good. leave it. get a mbc. it does help with boost tapper. plug you can run a few more psi for a little more power. make sure you add a walbro fp and some head studs with the mod path your taking.

o and welcome home.

Keep your stock BOV, they are the best for a basic bolt-on car (i.e. most evos), fuel pump, testpipe, LICP, BR SS o2 housing, ported hotside and ported exhaust manifold, and YES GET A TUNE! You will be super happy After that, FMIC, UICP, Ported IM/TB, cams (Cossies or FP4R's ).

Hey man, First, Thanks for your service and welcome home

Next to somewhat answer your question. Here's a good thread written by a mod, it's pretty much a guideline that may help you out. Give that a read and se if it helps answer some of your ?'s as far as what's needed and what's not.

I would suggest a HKS Intake, Forge or Hallman MBC and a fuel pump to round off a nice Stage II set up along with a custom tune

That has been a strong performer and shoudl make 330 - 340 whp dpening on what kind of dyno you use

After that you may need more power and a better fmic, fmic pipes, and cams would be the next logical step for an additionao 20 - 30 whp.

The final step would be alcohol injection which can get you close to 380 - 390 to the wheels on pump and meth and that maxes out the stock turbo.

After you have finished with the stock turbo you can consider a set up like a FP green with 680 injectors which makes about 410 - 430 whp on pump with meth.

Enjoy your new car and welcome home and thanks for your service.
