Hey guys, I am not sure if its just my car or are all manual cars suppose to be like this.

When I am in neutral and I rev up maybe 3k or 4k and I let go of the gas then I immediately clutch in and shift to 1st but when I do that, it feels like it grinds on my shift knob or I should say it feels like it locks out. If I don't rev up, this doesn't happen.

I want to know is this normal? I don't think it is because when I shift to 1st, my clutch is depressed all the way so I don't see any reason why it would lock out as the gears aren't even suppose to be touching..

Maybe some of you guys know why?

 

well, first gear has 3 syncro's on it so u might just be feelin all those syncro's engaging which might feel a lil choppy.

Why are you reving up to 4 grand then shiftin into 1st?

 

I was testing the motor mounts. As I was doing it, the traffic light hit green so I immediately clutched in and shift to first and thats when I felt the lock out......
