many tracks will not allow you to pass tech inspection if the battery has been moved to the trunk/interior unless it is in an approved enclosure and some will even require that there be a disconnect switch.
they usually don't want to have to go an investigate how to disconnect the battery and prevent a fire in case of an accident because it can possibly cause a short if it not in a box and if its a custom box, it may take a while to figure out how to open it and then remove one of the cables.
