Need Help, Oxygen sensor.
Need Help, Oxygen sensor.
Hey guys, My car recently threw the po171 and po134 code witch means that car is running lean and there is no activity from my O2 sensor in bank one. I understand that those two codes come together sinse the ecu is not getting any voltage from the sensor so its going to throw the lean code, but is it possible that its actually not the O2 sensor that is bad on my car? My car is pretty much stock just a TBE, Lower pipe, ported mani and a flash from previous owner. Also, are the sensors same from the 03 and 06, or are they interchangable? Thanks.
P.S, my car is running pig rich, which im reading from my wideband.

Its your 02. The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. If your not getting any voltage from your 02 then why would it be something else? Go to sparkplugs.com for the best deal.
Well... does anyone know if the O2 sensor changed in the 06 evo from the 03-05? Because i don't want to buy a sensor and it doesn't even fit my car. Someone please help, I think i read almost every thread on this but nothing that explains that.
Check this link out it might help.
As for buying a new sensor just select the year and model of your car and get the primary o2 sensor since its saying that its in Bank 1 and cause is throwing off your AFR's.
Good luck.
The problem is that no website carries the O2 sensor for an 06 they all only have the sensors from the 03 to the 05. Does any one know if they are the same because i need one asap.

Well, I just called mitsubishi and spoke to the parts department, and they told me that the oxygen sensors are different and that they would have to actually know if im in Cali or somewhere else because there is a difference also. Just tought i would let everyone know in case someone wanted to know.

Cali or not, the narrowband O2 sensor voltage oscillates roughly between 0V and 1V. Connect a voltmeter to the O2 signal give the O2 couple minutes to warm up and go for a drive. AFR richer than 14.7 should give you about 1V leaner than 14.7 about 0V. Just like here:
