Angry Help identify these cams!!!

///CASE SOLVED/// There're OBX Cams. Got my refund from seller. Thanks all

Well...here's the story, I bought a set of "HKS 272 Cams" from a fellow evom member here. Well...after all kind of drama, he send me the cams instead of a refund. I was getting the refund because these cams were sold to another EvoM member. But one way or another...he send me those cams.
This is what he said:
It's a long story. basically some kid offered me like 500$ for the cams and i got greedy but he wanted them overnighted blah blah blah. but they're on their way to your place. i'd really appreciate it if you'd drop the dispute
///end///
Me:
Well, so let's me get this straight. So kid offer you a lot more money but you didn't wan to ship them over night. You never mention anything about shipping them via USPS until the e-mail I just read.

It took you a few days to ship is because you said you were working on your car (I still got the PM.)

I spoke to the other buyer and he told me the reason why he backed out. The day he backed out you send me the cams ...seems fishy to me.

I should get the cams by tomorrow and if everything's cool, the claim will be dropped.

So, my question now is...are those cams are indeed HKS 272s for an Evo VIII. I don't want to start putting them in and they're not what they're described to be. Then I might have to take further actions if it does any kind of damage to my car.
///end///
His reply:
K here's the deal about the cams. THEY ARE HKS CAMS! but they are OLD SCHOOL EVO VII cams. everyone here knows they have the same motor and everything. They were bolted into my car. everything lined up perfectly. they have the exact same LIFT and DURATION.
///end///

I got the cams today...I attach some pictures. No where on the Cams stamped HKS. There are no marking on the cams what so ever. The only place I found any type of marking is on one of the bags the cams were in. It's got a sticker "10886EX."

So, I'm looking for you guys help and I'm going to contact HKS and see what they say. Also if any of you guys have pictures of your HKS 272 cams, please e-mail them to me at flyingwangwang@gmail.com so I can do some comparisons.

Thanks,
Ken

Those don't look like any HKS 272s that I've ever seen.

+1 on that looks like someone took the cams and put them in a lathe to remove all the casting marks too thats crazy. HKS cams should have HKS marks on them somewhere and marks saying which is the exhaust cam and which is not.

In your second picture there is a pretty clear indication of a grinding wheel or something being used to removes the rough casting between the cams. I wouldn't touch them.

Those aren't HKS 272's at all... "HKS" is embossed on the cam and the cam loobs don't look right for 272's. I think those are stock cams someone polished up!

1. those are not hks cams. there are so many f-ing thieves on these forums, its just sad.

2. the lobes look mean!

3. if you want, pm me your mailing address & i will throw them on a cam doctor & tell you what i find out.

btw, i recall seeing cams like that a while back.... i forget who made them....IIRC, someone in norcal was selling cams like these. if the surface finish on the cam seal area is a bit rough, just run your finger nail accross it, if it hangs up a bunch, then they are the cams i am thinking about, but if its fairly smooth, thery are something different.

i can compare the exh cam to a hks 272 ex cam that i have for refernce.

you'll just have to pay for shipping.

did you buy them from someone off of evom? if so, ask for your money back. if he doesnt respond, tell a moderator, crap in every for-sale thread that this guy starts...hell any thread he starts, then maybe he will send you your moeny back if he enjoys being on this forum.

mainly, speak to a moderator.....this is what worked for me....look @ my personal sales rating, scroll down to the only bad response, you'll then see the POS that i am referring to who screwed me over for 2 months.

good luck.

Yep...I've been had. I reported to the Mod... Paypal was no help since the cams weren't bought from Ebay. However, I made an interesting observation. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...233558439&ssPa geName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=019
The buyer left him a feedback, and I got the cams... this guys is a SCAMMER! He's a scammer from the beginning, I was just too stupid and didn't see it until it was too late!

DO NO BUY FROM EPSON1 PEOPLE!
And here's the original for sale thread from him:

I am the the other evom buyer who backed out the last second. I texted him day and night about the specs on these cams. i had it when the pictures he sent me are bull crap none of the lobe or the HKS stamp on the cam. He is still in the process of refunding my 300 dollars so were both Effed right now... He said theirs no stamp because theyre old school 7 hks cams. But he advertise these deceptively calling them hks 272s for evo viii, and copy and pasted the specs off the HKS website...??? I called HKS USA and AMS and they both said every HKS product ever sold has thier trademark stamp.
