Just thought i would chime in here. I have had both the exedy and quartermaster twins on my 700+awhp talon. both are great clutches w/o a doubt. I had nothin but problems out of the exedy. I quickly switched to the quartermaster. I will say with the quarter master, i stripped the disks out(where the input shaft goes through) 1 time. i think this a defect on the early disks with the dsms and has since been fixed. i drove this car almost everyday and never had any problems. the streetability is GREAT and you can slip it all day long. Without a doubt i will be going with the quartermaster for the evo

I switched to quartermaster because I stripped the splines on the disc out TWICE with the exedy triple plate.

hope it won't happen with the quartermaster too....so far so good

I recall the car being a little stall happy after the clutch install. i wouldn't say a full retune, just a little tweaking may be needed.

Bumping up the idle rpm a couple hundred helps the stall issue as well. The Devo Tuning/QM clutch is so much lighter than the stock flywheel and clutch that it dosn't react the same at low rpm's. A reflash or retune can fix the issue as well.

Mine idled perfect with the stock settings until I put cams in the car.

I still love my clutch.

I went from the exedy cerametallic triple plate to the Quartermaster twin without a retune or adjusting idle and it never stalls. I'm using the AEM though, not the stock ECU

I guess I will adjust my idle with the idle screw... stalling frequently would definately be a problem

Install it first and then go from there. Mine was able to be adjusted int the tune (AEM)

Exactly. It all depends on your specific set-up.

Never, ever, never touch that screw... that's what ECUflash/AEM etc are for.

Interesting clutch... BTW... I need to read more...

Zeus if you have more specific ?'s fire away.

For those interested in the noise comparo the Qm has more of a squeel upon engagement especially if you're slowly moving and release the clutch a bit too quick........where as the Exedy's tend to mainly make noise when the clutch pedal is depressed as the discs float but when engaging they aren't as loud as the QM.

If i get a free sec this weekend i can post a vid of the two as we move these cars in and out of the shop daily.

The Qm def. loves to be slipped cuz if not you do get a bit of chatter.

The pedal press. though is amazingly light compared to the Exedy's especially the Exedy triple Not saying it's not a good clutch just tough on the leg w/ a triple HD .
