Very nice writeup. You have me thinking about upgrading the rods and pistons now.

Curious about your post : "you will see the beautiful crosshatch later" I don't see it. Nor what you did to ensure the cleanliness of the bore and the rest of the block. What are your piston to wall clearances, rod bearing clearances and how your mains looked?
The pics of your stock pistons look like they had a huge problem with heat and high carbon build up. the tune looked to be a bit rich and non efficient.
Not to burst your bubble, but what your showing and think and what some of us are seeing are two completely different things.
My two cents.

The mains would not need to be removed, nor would the main girdle. The mains would never be removed from the car.

I understand that. They wouldn't even be able to come out to be checked with the way that he has left the block and trans in the car, My concern was with the look of the bores on the first few picks. IMHO I just would have et least dropped the engine and looked everything over. Piece of mind that is all.
My other questions are still valid and deserve a response by the original poster.

its not like you'll be able to see them when the motors all put together. They are sexy tho.

my apology for not getting back to you, I was slipping
anyway, I believe you understand now that I haven't removed the crack, so main bearings are not my concern. as for clearance issues, as the TTP JE pistons are custom to stock size, and my assumption (after compression and leak test before head removal) is that we have healthy engine to start with, the concerned will be only the honing issue, so that's why slight honing was carried to break the glazing only.

I will not argued as to my tuning, but this picture of the valves on the head will say more than I have to explain about the lambda in my tune before the drop in job

Just out of curiosity, can you explain how all the pistons could be "down" at the same time with the crank in the block?
