mobil 1 oil filter

I went to get oil from autozone and they had a deal for 5 qts of mobil 1 oil and mobil 1 oil filter it was only $30. But my question is that is the mobil 1 oil filter good for use on the evo or should I go get the oem oil filter?

I've been using Mobil-1 oil filter until I bought a defect which caused all of my oil to leak out and took my oil pump along with it....

I only use the filter my shop uses afterwards.

I've been using fram oil filters for years and have never had a problem with them. You should be fine using mobil 1 oil filters. The likely hood of getting a defective oil filter seems very low.

You should speak with oil doc. He believes that the amsoil oil filters and amsoil oil is the best thing you can get for the evo. Although you need to order these things, it is worth it!

Maybe you'll want to think about it for your next oil change. PM him. He is on the board as Oil Doc.

I use Mobil 1 filters. I used a K&N once and it leaked. I used to use Fram until I heard they significantly decrease your oil pressure. I'm not sure how true that is.

I think Mobil 1 filters are better than OEM, but little smaller. I would stick to OEM or Mobil 1, but stay far, far away from Fram filters, period. If you use Mobil 1 oil, make sure its the Extended Performance - pretty much the best thing after Amsoil. Cheers.

I've never really noticed a difference running the regular Mobil 1 synthetic vs the extended performance except the price.

This after about 18-21k between my RSX-S and Evo.

If you're expecting a rebate from Autozone check to make sure that the Mobil1 filter SKU number is currently in their system. I recently had my rebate rejected by Checker Auto because the Mobil1 I use (M1-105) is not currently in their stocking system. My local store had some old stock on a back shelf.
