Steady boost (tru boost)

First and foremost, my Evo has very few mods. One of the first things I swapped was the Stock boost controller to an AEM tru-boost. I am having a hell of a time keeping steady boost. with spring rate @5.7 and A setting @ 55% I see 21 psi at around 4k , then it tapers off to somewhere around 16-17 psi at 7k. I installed it correctly, I am pulling the boost reference off of the nipple by the compressor housing.

I've tried adjusting the Spring rate to 13 and it seems to help some. Has anyone had problems like this? any advice?

if your looking to reduce the taper you should go with the gm 3port boost solenoid and have the ecu tuned to control the boost. you could also try getting a different ebc. you need an ebc that can control the taper. i know the hks or the turbosmart ebc has these feature. don't know about the other brands.

I'm not looking for new boost controller solutions, I need a solution with my current Truboost setup. I keep reading about pills, I don't remember removing any pill, should I have?

the "pills" that people are referring to come off of the stock vacuum lines.. did you retain the stock vacuum lines ? or did you go with the ones found in the Tru Boost?

That's your problem these have pills in them. Remove them and use the ones that come with the AEM. Mine runs perfectly, spiking to about 24.8, falling to 22-23.
