what goes wrong with stock turbo's on an IX? seems like i've lost quickness of spool and where it spools seems later...... giving me alot less power. i have no boost leaks and no problems at all. can something be wrong with the turbo or am i just being a jackass?

Take off your intake pipe and look at the turbo inlet. See if there's any damage, if the blades spin freely, and if there's shaft play.

Seems to me that most people I talk with, get use to same way the car pulls all the time and wont more mods to their car! I def. would check out the things suggested above, but also you might want to think about getting a check up on your tune!! I wish you luck either way!

i plan on checking both this weekend..... its wierd cuz it only has 11k miles and its noticable enough to where 2 of my friends who dont know jack about cars can feel the loss. before, if i remember right soon as you maxed out say 1st or 2nd, soon as you shifted it was in boost.... seems now like it has lag between each gear. oddly enough i noticed the problem by feeling the loss and started watching my gauge.... i was only maxing 17psi. pretty sure before that on the stock solenoid it hit 19.

i installed the MBC and set it to 20 and it still doesnt feel like it did before.
with the mods above i only hit 266hp and 233tq thats definatly not right if you ask me but who knows. IC piping is clean, my breather filter spits a little oil now and then though. so compression test needs to be checked.

if you have it handy ... a how to link for comp test?

thanks alot guys for the input i'll keep posted

I think you just got used to the power. Your dyno numbers do sound very very low for your mods though. My car feels every bit as fast as my DLL graphs show and even more so after my mods this past week. I would have someone review the logs from your car and start there. Also do a boost leak test, you may not think you have a leak, but even small ones cause big headaches.

Also I would try switching to a catch can instead of a breather. Your intake is pulling vaccum through your pcv valve and by having the breather on there you are allowing unmetered air into your engine, this can cause problems.

Incorrect. Having a correctly routed PCV system just helps to alleviate pressure in the crank case. Has nothing to do with allowing unmetered air into your engine.

Turn your MBC adjustment knob all the way out to full soft(lowest possible boost setting). Now, with the MBC set this way, do a WOT run and check the boost pressure reading. If you get a reading of 10-12 PSI, then proceed to increase wastegate preload(by shortening the adjustable actuator rod) to about 17-18 PSI. Now, reconnect your MBC and proceed to dial in your target boost with the MBC.
