Can anyone reply that has had the line done if their clutch pedal has a different engagement than before. Like engaging very very low, almost to the floor?

Or is it the same as before about an inch or two from the top of the pedal travel?

Thanks again

Mine engages a little bit lower, but nowhere near the floor. It really sounds like you've got air in there. I would tell the service guy to try again.

Its going back in the morning. I cant believe they said it was ok?

I have to push it to the floor for it to engage, the rest is just free travel.

This sucks.

Same thing happened first try... I didn't realize that the clutch side of the reservoir was sucking air just below the full line for the brake fluid. I filled it to the top and only let it get down to the bottom of the neck while bleeding. Once I got a good, solid pedal feel, I bled it down just to the max mark.

tell him to attach a hose to the bleeder on the slave cylinder. and to loosen the two bolts that hold it on so he can get the hydralic free..then with the cap off the resevoir and the clutch pedal all the way up off the floor...he just has to pump the slave cylinder hydralic untill no more air comes out of the bleeder.....making sure to watch and re-top off the resevoir so he isn't pumping air into it....

I adjusted my free play and now my clutch engages really high also, but my clutch is worn out. I will most likely have to adjust my free play again when I get it back with the new clutch. I like to have as little free play as possible but not having it engage so high. Guess I will have to find the right balance between the two.

What dealer did this for you? I'm going to my dealer tomorrow to ask them about doing these mods for me and keeping the drivetrain warranty. Were you able to keep yours?

My local dealer charged $85 to put the line in, then re bleed the system the next day. They sent it back to me with 3 inches of play and the clutch engaging about an inch from the floor. When a different guy bleed it , there was a ton of air in the system.

BPC, how did you adjust your clutch, I was told it was hydrolic and their wasnt any adjustments.

And SSK, your dealer was cool about removing your restricotr?

Anyways my clunking is about 50% less, but it dose seem hard to get into gear from time to time.

clutch line length?

Can someone tell me how long the "new SS clutch line" is? Also is the fitting that goes to the hardline concave or convex?

Damn sales guy I talked to said it was gonna be here last Friday. I have nothing today, and it's Wednesday. Also, they charged me $72 on my credit card, instead of what he said over the phone.

Where is the cheapest and best place to purchase on of these lines? Can someone give me some pricing shipped on this item? I'd like to get one but at the best price possible.

Thanks everyone!

Installed ss clutch line couple of days ago. Took out restrictor also. Followed Timcatz directions, thanks timcatz. Anyway I 've never had any problem with the clutch or shifting on this car, fast slow, high rpm low rpm, no probs. With the line installed and restrictor removed it feels more positive and thats about it. It feels better but not wow night and day to me anyway. I don't launch my car at 5k either though. Still I like it and am happy with it. For $70 it seems like a inexpensive fix if it will help the clutch last longer.

I didn't have a brake bleeder or another person so I just put a vacume tube on the slave cylinder nipple and put the end in a cup of brake fluid. Pumped clutch peddle about 6 times, refill master, pump, refill, pump, refill, tighten nipple done. Worked well, I was wondering why noone else did it that way?

I'm thinking that there may just be cars that are being delivered with something wrong, air in clutch line or defective restrictors like someone else suggested. Anyone with clutch problems just try bleeding there clutch first?
