Got my line in today and removed the restrictor. I used tymcatz method for bleeding then hit it about three times around the old fashion way. I can add one thing to the whole procedure though. I had a really hard time trying to get those clutch line clips back on. I even shot one off somewhere and it just disappeared somewhere in my engine bay. To make this alot easier just take a hammer to the clip and straighten it out a little. It will just slide right on. If you straighten it to much just bend it back a little.

I noticed a huge difference on pedal feel. My clutch is slipping already so I don't really know about engagement yet, but disengagement is awesome. I also had 30mm of free play on my pedal. It is suppose to be 4 to 13mm. Way off. This was causing a big problem when downshifting into first gear to take off and would cause it to engage the gear really rough sort of grinding in. This fixed it though and my shifts are so much smoother.

I can say WOW and this mod is well worth it.

You wanna hear something funny? Mazda is rebating $500 and is giving free maintence for 4 years or 50,000 miles just because an emission control dropped the hp on the rx8 like 20hp. It's nice to know that some companies care about their customers.

Wow. Wish Mitsu would do something like that.

Where'd that come from? SO the RX8 MT is only making 227? WRX HP?

The cars are dynoing at 175-180 whp. That's weak even for a 220 hp car!

I missed the autoweek show by about 30 seconds, argh, but who's dynoing them? We had one running out at the track Motor Sport Ranch, and it was said to feel grossly underpowered, and I'm sure tehy've dyno'd it now, I'll have to see what they put down..

It does seem week on a chassis dyno (Dyno Jet), but the street/track performance seems better than what the numbers indicate. I have driven an RX8 on the street and road course, it,s no EVO but I believe mid to high 14's are possible. It was about 5MPH down at the end of the main straight compared to a stock EVO.
I was at RX7.com when they were doing dyno testing on the same car I drove at the track, it made 180 WHP. I suspect that the stabilization control system might be reducing power some how, because it doesn't see the front wheels moving (just a theory). The low/mid range torque seems good (in spec) it just starts droping off at higher RPM. If it would hold the torque to the higher RPM like it should, it would make the power quoted by Mazda. They originally rated the engine at 247HP and recently lowered the rating to 238HP. Even at that rating I would expect to see a little over 200WHP on a 2WD Dyno Jet.
BTW nice car, and a lot of fun on a road course, truly awsome balance and chassis dynamics, excellent brakes, just could use more power and a stickier tire.

It was justa blurb at the end of the show. They also said that mazda may be willing to buy back the cars if owners are unhappy.

Actually buddy, they have to offer that or risk facing legal action from owners for falsely marketing a product.

Anyone worried about shocking the tranny once n a while now? How to prevent that? I know it all comes down to driving skills, but what exactly about it?

The Evo tech said he thinks he seen somthing on their bulletin from Mits about the tranny or clutch needing recall work.

Has anyone else heard the same?
He is going to double check it.

So for anyone that dosnt want to do it themselves, take it to your dealer and have them install the line.
Do you mind looking more into this? I don't want to have to spend $75 plus install if they're gonna make a TSB or recall for it.

I just put the stainless cable in and got everything fixed up and all I can say is WOW! The difference is night and day. Now the clutch lets out the same EVERY time! You will not believe the difference until you actually do it. The whole job took me about 1.5 hours from start to finish.

Just ordered my stainless steel clutch hose a second ago, from Alamo Auto Sports for $67 shipped. He said it would be delivered to me tomorrow . Now that's service!
