ShepTrans or Team RIP
I have owned 6 TRE transmissions over the years. Jon Ripple has forgotten more about DSM and Evo transmissions than most people ever knew. He is very pleasant to deal with, and will talk to you for an hour about your transmission needs when you reach him. I've never heard anyone (except the previous poster) who had anything negative to say about customer interactions with Jon personally. You won't be disappointed with his manner or his transmission parts or service.

Because I've owned well over six VR4s or DSMs, and two Evos.
Six of those cars had TRE transmissions. Never had a failure with any of them.
And, by the way, none of them were sponsored or discounted. That makes a small difference when you're considering recommendations.

My vote is for Shep as you can see below in my sig. I have a Shep 5spd and Shep T-case. I went to Shep, because he has gone high 7s on his own transmission - no one else can say that.
To be fair, I would not hesitate to go with TRE if Shep were not an option. But, since I have no experience with TRE, all I can tell you is that my Shep bits have held up to tons of abuse
- Well over 200 drag launches above 6k rpm with the last 50 being at 7k rpm and on drag radials (100+ in the 11s)
- I never miss a shift due to notchiness or grinding and can shift with lightning speed without even THINKING about the trans
- Many track days and autocross runs without a hiccup
- Daily driven with the smoothness of a better-than-new trans

My vote will have to be Devo Tuning.
Adam rebuilt my trans after my shift fork broke and my trans was stuck in 4th gear. I also broke a couple of other gears, and 3 out of my 5 gears were grinding.
He pulled out my trans did all the labor and also hooked me up with a VIII 4th gear for a pretty good price. I say u should contact him and just get ur car down here and have him do it for u.
Adam has to be one of the best DSM/Evo mechanic's around.
