We use a Buschur Bushwacker transmission. He also changed the 4th gear out for us. Never a tranny problem yet and we've made at least thirty 10 second passes and launches as high as 7200 rpms. Daniel Buschur is very good with transmissions. I saw him start pulling my engine and tranny at 12:00 noon, had it out and back to sitting and talking with me by 2:45. Poetry in motion.

Bad experience with TRE, guy cussed me out on phone because I broke 2nd gear with only 430 whp. He insisted I double clutched it and treated me like a moron. Never use them.

Both Shep and TRE build good transmissions. TRE has more specialized equipment and does more work on their rebuilds, based on a comparison of the items listed by both on their build pages....

I had a Shep in my GSX. I wasn't happy at all. Very notchy. I've called Jon are TRE for information and parts and was always very pleased. He actually diagnosed a bearing problem and sent me the parts required to fix it. Afterwords it was back to good as new.

I recently got the pleasure of driving an E9 RS with Bushwhacker tranny E8 4th gear. It shifted beautifully. For me it would be BR or TRE and price would be the deal maker or breaker.
