Unhappy mY numbers seem low

Hey everyone, i recently got my 2004 evo dynoed on a Mustang Dynamometer AWD dyno. My list of mods are 255 LP Fuel pump, Hallman MBC, Helix HFC and Downpipe, Greddy Titatium Exhaust catback, Aem Intake, Dyno flash through the mail, and boost is set at 20 psi, i also have a HKS Blow off valve. Ok well we did 3 pulls on this dynomometer and my 2 best runs were 235.9 HP and 242.6 Ft-lbs Torque, My second run which was my best was 238.3 HP, and 257.1 Ft-lbs Torque. Im not sure if these numbers are about right or what not, let me know what you think

Completely normal, mustang dynamometers read low. Just got tuned today on the same dyno with turboback( no cat) , mbc 20 psi, and safcII. Baseline pull was 196.3/190.3, after precision dyno tuning did there magic, ended up 265.3/233.2. I think it would be very close to 270 on a dynojet, anyone else agree?

So I'm back to discuss my most recent dyno result.

I have decided my car is weak, but that's ok, mods will surely change that (in process).

So here's my first dyno from a long while back in '04. Temps were cool, low 80's perhaps? Some humidity, I don't have all the variables.

mods: hks rs intake, grounding kit, forge d/v

This was prior to my catback which I have now, and I no longer have the forge d/v or the grounding kit (not that they make that much difference).

This is my most recent dyno @ gruppe-s:

mods: hks rs intake, megan racing 3" cat back

I was car #6 or 7, and it was geting hot in there, probably mid 90's but relatively low/no humidity. Note the weight entered on the dyno (both mustang 500 awd models) is lower on the gruppe-s dyno. That kinda throws off my comparison unfortunately, but I'm going to use this gruppe-s dyno as my new baseline anyhow.

So what I can infer from this I think, is that my RS intake provides some nice top-end gains/smoothing, but the heat killed my torque. I had the HKS intake on both dynos, so we know that's not really the torque loss factor here.

I also believe the catback was responsible for the solid HP gains all around, so that's comforting.

At the moment I'm installing gauges in prep for my AEM EMS... and completing the exhaust with a 3" dp/HFC. After that I will be installing a few misc items (catch can, fuel pump, MBC) and then taking my non-beast to torquefreaks for some serious aem dyno/road tune time.

Comments? I guess I am writing this for my own archival purposes lol.

Just went to the dyno meet at Full Function today and had my 05 Evo VIII GSR (basiclly stock cept for HKS drop-in filter & JDM MR DV) dynoed on their mustang dyno and it dynoed 232HP/233TQ. Im trying to upload the pic of the sheet and the video of the dyno run, but it says the pic is to big & dont think the video is the right format.

Dyno'd last on 9/19 @ TopSpeed. Boost controller was leaking horribly, it would hit 21 psi then drop to 17 psi (which is now fixed by the way ).

Mods are:
BR 3" TBE w/ test pipe and MagnaFlow
GSC 272/264
Walbro 255
Leaking mbc @ 21 psi
HKS panel filter
DynoFlash for above mods
BR standard i/c
Helix i/c pipes

DynoJet dyno. Vids and dyno sheet are in sig below. My car w/ good mbc should be around 315 AWHP on TopSpeed's dyno...

actually i disagree...if that mustang is the same model i dynoed on under nearly the same conditions u could expect prolly close to 320whp from what im gathering...look at it like this...

Buschur Racing makes a 330 n 350 model (both flywheel)...the 350 model dynos on the mustang at 255whp i believe...so ur projected flywheel would be closer to 360ish if thats the case take ur power loss from the flywheel to the ground to be approx. 40 or so horses n ur lookin at about 320whp n the dyno jet reads high in my experience so maybe that number or even a little exaggerated...

if anyone disagrees im always open to hear about it...let me know.

New Evo

So I work at a Mercedes-Benz dealer and someone trades in a White Evo VIII for an E55, the Dealer gives him $21,000 for it. Being an Employee, you can buy cars for $1000 over trade in if you want. After taking a look at the car, it has a fair amount of aftermarket already on it. After talking with the previous owner, I bought the car for just under $24000 after tax, etc..

317 whp , but I cant decipher what torque figures are. I'm just so happy with the car. Raced it against an SL55 after hours on Sat. and Destroyed it on Launch. @40mph roll still smoked the SL but only by 2-3 legnths up to 115+

I'm really happy to have gotten such a great deal on a car that already has most of the parts I would have wanted to add. Previous owner never drag raced, so I'm considering a twin plate clutch, because I love the strip. Also, car is running S-AFC II, but as far as I can tell, tuning was almost a year ago. Should I get it re-dyno tuned, just to be safe?

Thanks!

Yes, just to be safe and get a flash (instead of a tuned S-AFC).

If I got a ecu flash, could I use the AFC to switch to race gas map? I guess I'm asking, if I got a reflash what would I still need the afc for? Do I still need to tune a little ontop of the flash, could I use it for alternate maps or would it be better to sell it?
I know more about STi's than I do Evos, so I feel like a n00b all over again.

Thanks!
