oil return line gasket question..
oil return line gasket question..
I had posted a thread a while back about burning a hole in my oil return line... well I finally got the parts, but it only came with one gasket that goes from the oil line to the tranny. The other gasket is a paper gasket that goes to the turbo... so here is my question.
I have 2 of the same gaskets that match up fine, but the one that was to the turbo was a paper gasket and the one to the oil pan is metal. Is it possible that I could use the old gasket ( that is in perfect shape ) that goes to the turbo instead or would that likely not work? I need my car back into working order, but obviously I don't want to screw it up. What about making one out of something?

Maybe I missed something in your post but I am pretty sure (call me dumb) that there is no oil line from the turbo to the tranny. There is however a line from the turbo to the engine oil pan and I would recommend using a factory gasket. Just my .02 worth.

well I decided to get some gasket paper and make my own. My friend and I made 2 of them actually since the original on it was pretty thick. So far everything seems to be fine... does anyone thing that it might not hold due to the high temps?
