Ticking sound
wow I'm going to go try this. I've turned the radio all the way down at idle and I still here a buzzing sound but the ticking doesn't start until I start driving. I'll check it out and see what happens and report back. If this is what has been causing the ticking noise the whole time I'm going to go crazy lol. I've been worried and freaking out about what this sound could be for the last week and a half lol.
Wow.. So I go out turn the radio off, first thing I notice the buzzing sound went away. Then I start driving the car and NO ticking noise anymore. I can't believe that it was that the whole time. I've been driving like an old lady for the last week and a half felling like crap thinking that there was something wrong with the car and in the end it turns out to be the f***ing amp lol. Wow I guess you learn something new everyday. A big Thank you to everyone who helped out with possible suggestions as to what the problem could be. Oh and to add to my wonderful day, someone actually ran in to the back of my car this morning on the way to work. Damn old people in Palm Beach Florida can't drive. Thankfully the damage wasn't too bad but I might be in the market for a JDM Evo 9 rear bumper soon. What's the price for one of those along with the install? And will the Megan racing exhaust fit that rear bumper. Thanks for all your help guys, I love this Site!!
I knew it!!! It had to be the amp because the car was running fine days ago. One more thing, I left all the wiring ready for a new amp, I spent more than $300 in wiring and distribution/ground/fuse blocks alone, and when I had my amps installed everything sounded awesome, what did the installer do? He switched cables? I can double check your sound system, after all I did all mods myself except the exhaust and custom flash.
yeah that's cool. And just as one problem gets fixed another pops up. Lastnight the car had a boost spike and the boost hit 32psi. I read your post about the boost spikes with the forge unos MBC and I'm just going to get a Electronic Boost controller installed this weekend so I don't blow the motor with the forge MBC because of too much boost lol. What's a good brand of Electronic boost controller?
lol, yeah I went from a v8 to a 4cylinder. I did the complete opposite as you. Yeah I called a shop up, I'm going to get the greddy profec b spec 2. And I'm also going to get the car tuned and lower the psi to around 20 because the car doesn't have the walboro fuel pump upgrade.
You don't need to lower the PSI, and actually 20 PSI is lower than stock. Since you're running stock cams there's no need for an upgraded fuel pump. Also the car was tunned by Al (Dynoflash) and he knows what he's doing. Later on Machines Gone Wild dynoed the car and confirmed that it was a very safe flash.
