10.72 @ 129 Red Turbo
Agreed, I was one of the guys who said big turbos were for race gas only and now I don't agree at all. We are knocking out 500+ whp, 93 octane builds constantly, it's very easy to do.
The green was my favorite before, I guess since I have not personally driven a Red yet on the street/track it still is. I love the green. BUT, the green never made over 400 on straight pump gas that I can remember on our dyno. Trent's Red did.
I believe the Red is going to be the most popular turbo over time.

I can't wait to see what Trent's car does with some race gas and a solid tune! Get er done Trent!
I just checked some logs from Trent's car on the dyno.
The only change from these logs is the car went from our header turbo kit with a GT35r to the red on the stock ported manifold and SS 02 housing.
The GT35r reached 20 psi at 4895 rpm and 29 psi at 5395 rpm.
The Red reached 20 psi at 3656 rpm and 27 psi at 4387 rpm.
Both pulls were on 93 octane, same boost controller, same gear (4th) on the dyno.

I do have to admit that my personal dream setup would probably in fact be E85 and a Red... personally I'd have no use for anything more.
Not close enough to be viable at this point. If there were, I'd have probably already went GT35R. Guess it's for the better as I like the entire idea of the Red much better anyway.
Personally my opinion on building an EVO is this:
IF you want to stick with the stock ECU and pump gas then you should use a stock EVO9 turbo or the Green. End of statement, end of story.
MY personal experience here at our shop is IF I make 340 whp on pump gas with the stock ECU I made a LOT of power.
Yes, I am aware of people making more power on the stock ECU blah blah blah. I said MY experience and MY opinion.
This is MY opinion, MY experience.
Do what you want with what I said but please don't argue with me about it

No arguing intended what so ever Daivd... it's just that for the majority, the OE ECU is the ONLY option for a daily driver. I'm involved in Gov't... trust me when I say that soon, the "green people" are going to win on the Hill, and aftermarket ECUs will be a real pita to own anywhere in the US for the daily driver. So you guys that can have them... ROCK them while you can! For the rest of us, we will have to continue the development of using the OE unit.
Back on topic, how long before you guys have more of your customer's Red results... I'm hanging on every post!

Subscribed! After reading through nearly 240 posts, I have to say that I've learned a lot. I know that the vast majority of posting a good time is driver skill. Most ha already been answered and I'm wondering what tire pressure do you use at the strip? Is your 12-14 PSI at the launch set using the EMS or the reflash?
David, I wasn't aware that you previously ran two different intakes (Wilson and Driven Innovation). For those of us that can't make the drive to Ohio to check out the shop, are there efforts underway to put all of these different products on the BR website?
Like most have stated concerning patience, I believe this turbo will certainly fit my needs as I was in the process of getting a GT3076r turbo. This is definitely the most logical choice IMO comparing the two. I'm in Fort Hood and yes, there's only one E-85 pump here so far (about five miles from my house). I'd like to get two different maps (93 and E-85) once things are said and done just in case I'm stuck in between on a long road trip or something. So, I'm thinking that either 1000cc or 1200cc injectors would satisfy this need of mine.

I wasn't referring to you Zeus. I was just making a general statement that I was simply voicing my opinion and didn't wish to argue as it was my opinion only.
pureevo, The PSI was 15 psi I believe. Yes, the parts are all on our website. The fabricated intakes are no longer on the site, nobodies. I do have the DI intakes instock here still and will continue to use/sell/recommend them when someone wants a fabricated intake.
1,000 cc injectors are plenty for the EVO Red turbo.

pure evo, you're just up the way... might have to come see your progress, or offer a discount if you need an install (shameless plug). Bang for the buck, I can't see you being unhappy with this turbo vs. a full on kit, especially for an aggressive daily driver.
With everything going on, it's a DAMN fine time to be an Evo owner...

I just don't need that much power and am not willing to lose the spool due to the racing I do, but if I didn't have those needs, the Red would be the ticket for sure.
for he and I both
