Egr Valvle location

Dose anyone know where the EGR valve is located and maybe possible picture of it?? My check engine light is on and its throwin the DTC P0401:EGR Flow Insufficient Detected code and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to fix this. i was told by one of my buddies to take it out and spary it with carb cleaner because they get dirty and throw codes but i dont know about that?? any ideas? thanks!

here you go, the egr valve is located on the top right of the pic but this is after the Intake Mani is removed. In your car it should on the bottom of your Intake Mani towards the Throttlebody side, make sure your hoses are connected to the egr valve.

Is that the little blue/black hose connected to the saucer shaped egr valve causes the p0401 code to show up when it's not hooked up?

i think it might be. search the forums with "p0401" , there were a few older threads about this issue from what i recall. you just might have to feel around for the nipple/hose without visually seeing it since its under the Intake Mani.

if you are getting an insufficient flow code then its either one or two things. one of the hoses in the egr system has blown off. word of advice to all who need it. put zipties on all your hose connections to keep this from happening again in the future otherwise it will continue to happen in most cases. the egr valve could also be dirty but this is most likely not the case. check the hoses and if you dont find anything then pull the egr valve off and clean it with some throttle body cleaner or something of the sort. be sure it is dry and clean of any free floating materials before reinstalling so it doesnt get into the motor. good luck and let us know if you have any more questions.
