exedy twin problem

I installed my new exedy twin clutch and it when i went to put it in gear after the install was done i could not shift into any gears when the car is on. it seems like the clutch is not disengaging fully.

I adjusted the clutch pedal all the way out to see if this would fix the problem but it did not.

has anyone else had this problem after installing an exedy twin? what do i need to do?

I'm sorta having the same problem. I can't get it into 1st sometimes and coming out of 2nd and 3rd gear at lower rpms's it grinds. Just got mine installed too only 80miles on the clutch so far and never did it before the clutch install. I don't no what it could be adjusting the clutch was the only thing I can think of. I searched but couldn't really finding anything

Are you sure the TOB is clicked in to the wedge collar all the way? Take the slave back off and make sure you can't "push" the fork by hand and that it is in the middle of the opening in the bellhousing...

There is a part called an extended clutch rod, they say it sometimes is needed, but I have yet to hear of anyone saying they actually needed it.

I have experienced that the engagement point does change over time as the clutch wears. It is usually possible to find the proper adjustment by using the adjustment rod although it may take some time. It took me about 10 tries yesterday I went both directions and almost ended up exactly where I started as far as the adjustment position goes. Mine is shifting better now and it is going into gear each time as it should. I suggest just playing around more with that adjustment rod. GL.

TOB is definitely in. ive also read that the shortened slave cylinder rod is worthless because it is just compensated for by the hydraulic system.

You're right. It is a gimmick part.

Did you check your transmission fluid?

brand new redline MT-90. the transmission shifts fine when the car is not on, it only will not shift when the engine is running.

it definitely is not disengaging because as you try to shift into first with the clutch down the car will try to move forward

like someone said. The spring clip has to be clicked in, i had the exact same issue. Had to redo everything because I used the stock clip and didn't make sure it was on right.

If the car moves when you try to push it into first gear, it's definitely the TOB. Did you use a new TOB, or the one off your old clutch?

no. I had to go back and redo everything because accessing the clip has to be securely in place with the pressure plate. I kept knocking it off when trying to put the tranny back on.. Did you have a new spring or used the stock unit?

new spring, i dont really think it is the clip. the clutch itself will disengage a little bit because i can hear the chatter from the disk.
