Hi folks,

I've been reading that the ECU of the evo 6 isn't programmable? Does this mean I do not have the possibility of having it reflashed? What options do I have without going to a full standalone? Probably emanage blue? Would love to hear your suggestions. I only plan on upgrading my exhaust to 3" along with a few minor addons.. possibly aiming for 280-300 whp. Thanks!

yes you cannot flash your ecu. you will need to get an evo 7 or 8 ecu and change a few pins to get it to work so that you can flash or tune your car. Personally i dont like the e-manage waste of time and money unless you get the e-manage ultimate (which is not standalone).... but you could get alot more for your money going with a 7 or 8 ecu that does the same job. 300hp is not major numbers so a 7 or 8 ecu is more than good for that.

Ok thanks mate, will try to ask around on how much an Evo 7/8 ecu costs here.

With your mods why not fit a Ralliart ECU?
Has a more aggresive map and no boost cut.. Its just a plug and play ECU no messing about with wires ect ..

You can run 1.6Bar with a good boost controller and with your mods about 350 - 370 BHP fly..

why would you spend alot of money getting a ralliart ecu when you can just buy a evo 7/8 ecu and flash the ralliart into it... so much cheaper. you cannot flash a ralliart ecu unless you pay more money to unlock it....

I had the evo 7 ecu in my car for awhile with the ra patch.
The car kept cutting at at 70mph
Turned out to be the e7 ecu at fault..
E7 ecu has a added safety feature where it will cut the engine if it detect alot of vibration from the knock sensor..

e7 ecu is better than the e8. Only one pin or two to change.
I had an evo 6 before my evo 9, i once plugged an e7 ecu bcs it has the fuel cut at higher boost. I didn't know abt ecuflash back then.
I think this is the way you need to go
