Clearing carbon in exhaust with degreaser?
Clearing carbon in exhaust with degreaser?
I've done this with bikes but am not sure if its a good thing to do for a car's exhaust system.
I recently bought a used fujitsubo titanium exhaust system, a tomei downpipe and a bored up extractor and am wondering if I should tape up all the holes and spray or pour in lots of degreaser/contact cleaner, seal it up and leave it overnight and rinse it with water the next day before installing them.
Whats your take on this? Is this a total waste of time(and degreaser)?
The result I get from this from my bikes exhaust when I pour the content out the next day are huge pieces of carbon and particles. Felt good when I see that.

You can use brake dust cleaner to clean the outside and inner tip but dont waste your time trying to clean the inside of the entire exhaust pipes. There are no worth while advantages of cleaning the iside of the exhaust, just a waste of time.
