Help Me Please!!!!!

Just installed ACT Clutch. Car won't go into gear when car is started. Car will go into gear when off. When the car is started, it sounds like the release bearing is rattling really badly. Almost seems like the clutch isn't disengaging. Any ideas on what to do? Is there anyway to adjust the clutch pedal? HELP ME!!!

Best regards,

Mike

The clutch is not releasing, it sounds like the throw out bearing is not installed properly.

Did you bleed out the clutch ?? If you have air in the line (enough air) it won't disengage the clutch.... hope it's that and not what Timz mentioned!!

They don't yet. They had a small run of them which ACTman had posted, but I am sure they were all scooped up.

If there is air in the system the pedal will be dead at the top, if you don't have freeplay at the top then you probably have no air. I will say this, once you get air in it, it can be a ***** to get it out.

That wouldn't account for the rattle, though.

If the clutch needs to be adjusted. On the top of the clutch pedal inside the car there is a brass looking nut that can be backed off and then a brass looking rod that can be pushed forward or back then tighten the nut. I'm not sure if this is your problem but that is how you adjust the clutch.
