FP RED vs 35R
but the whole point of this is.... look at what kind of platform you are limited to.. ported stock twinscrolll manifold (unless you want to spend 1k on a full race and gain a few extra ponies) vs true equal length tubular manifold .. internal wastegate vs an external wastegate to control boost.. recirculated dump tube (unless u want to go with the unproven stock o2 dump tubes on the market) vs true atmospheric dump tube.. AND the biggest of it all.. you are limited to a TINY hotside on the red, compared to all kinds of options with a 35r..
of course the Red has been proven already to make a TON of power on fully built cars.. with professional drivers running 10's on race gas.. but, it is still never going to be able to outflow a fully built 35r setup in the end..
IMO .. It for sure the best setup to look "stock" though.. I wanted to get one because it would be a fun street car... but then I just realized that I want something with a lot more potential... Every one has different ideas of what kind of power and spool-up that they want..

Stock intake manifold
Stock head (no porting)
Stock shortblock
Stock Turbo Air inlet pipe
Stock upper IC pipe/hoses
Stock throttle body
Stock exhaust manifold (no porting)
Stock ignition system and coils
and it was full weight too. He prolly couldve hit high 10s with a ported intake and exhaust manifolds, 6mm throttle body, short routing uicp, and a diff air inlet pipe. Plus he said it wasnt his best driving. Also I never said it would outflow a 35R either.

possibly it does? but im looking at ur sig and it looks as if ur on stock block. if so, when u get tuned please post your results in this thread. if youre on a dynojet i hope that you make more than 470whp or you might have to eat those words.
That is a horrible way to look at it. A turbo isn't an easy part to make. I trust any guy more who can make a turbo over any guy who just straps it on a car and makes numbers.

this isnt about me or you. take those comments to pm or keep them to yourself. this was intended to compare two turbo options for the evo community. i never said the RED is the only way. this is for that person that is new to evos or on the ropes about turbo selection. lets just try to focus on WHY every INDIVIDUAL who is reading this FEELS the way that HE/SHE does about EITHER turbo. thats it, period. Its ok to defend/support your views on either turbo, but there is NO need for personal attacks. thats how threads get closed and off subject.

easy its called reading. i have read what this turbo has done so far. the information that i have gatherd has come from threads by David Buschur and Forced Performance. The car that was an "all out" car is no joke and has proven to be a beast too (TOMS car). if you want to doubt me, cool go ahead. if you want to doubt the people that made the turbo and the shop that consistently delivers excellence then thats an entirely different story. tell me where i have said something "fictionary" regarding this turbo? cmon dude lets stay to the OP. this thread has very good potential. when more people buy them and post numbers we will have all types of numbers from all over the country. until then just chill and let people support their ideas, pose new questions and scenarios, post dyno sheets, and post time slips

FP4R camshafts, both intake and exhaust.
Adjustable exhaust cam gear

ARP head studs
Bsuchur Race FMIC
850cc Delphi injectors
342 fuel pump
PMAS airflow meter with open filter (hot air intake system)
Works 3” cast O2 housing
Works 3” DP
3” test pipe
3” catback
TiAl BOV, the new Q one 11psi spring
Excedy twin cermic HD clutch
Motec M800 ECU (they do not offer a knock control module, aint that stupid?)
