What has Automotorsports made so far for the Evo? Anything news with the Autronic and etc?
Seems like they're working on a lot of stuff. Call Brice and talk to him; he's really friendly and knows a hell of a lot about Evos (he has one with a bigger turbo installed, and said he was going to drop in a larger one). I talked to him about the Works reflash and he said they dynoed one and it did really well. He also rattled off about 20 upgrades and their appox. HP gain.

and you guys think you have it rough... i have the "oz" (i'm hating that name more everyday) and if i'm planning on accelerating AT ALL, the first move is to switch off the AC.

Am I the only one who is a little concerned about the AC compressor spinning up to 6-7K on a regular basis? I suspected this was happening because even under sustained high RPM the AC always seemed to be cold, this test seems to confirm this.
Maybe the compressor can handle it, but I am thinking that with the way I drive it is not going to last long. I know the FD RX7 would disengage the AC clutch above a certain RPM, perhaps this would be a good feature for this car?

In 3 Fast 3 Furious, they'll have EVO drivers turn the AC to the 'Off' position for the final "boost"!!!

Thanks for the confirming numbers, thats a pretty big reduction in power! I always try to leave the AC off, but lately the extreme heat has won the battle! Its not only a major drag but adds load to the engine creating more heat.

A true lose-lose scenario for sure.....except of course that you don't have to swim in your own sweat!

Well I live in glorious Yuma, Az. The norm for nighttime this time of year is in the high 90's and in the 100 to 110 plus in the day. So, I tend to us the ac alot.
